Have seen the first episode of A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms which goes out on Sky Atlantic next Monday. Set in the Game of Thrones universe, about 100 years before the events of that show - as you'd expect from HBO it's very good and if you like that genre you'll be happy. It's focused primarily on the POV of the small folk rather than high-ranking nobles, although they're about too. Doesn't jump around looks like it'll be set in one place only. Writing, acting and authenticity is spot on. Promising.
During a tea break at work a colleague, in her 40s, found out that the lyrics on Free From Desire are 'he's got his strong beliefs' rather than 'he's got his trombolese' - she genuinely thought it was some kind of brass instrument.
The draw for the playoffs has been made. If I'm reading it correctly this is how it works: Wales or Bosnia will play Italy or Northern Ireland Ukraine or Sweden will play Poland or Albania Slovakia or Kosovo will play Turkey or Romania Czechia or Ireland will play Denmark or N Macedonia
Think that's a decent draw for Ireland, at least they'll have home advantage if they get past the Czechs.
I've had the privilege of seeing next week's episode early. Ep6 - the penultimate episode, and it's one of the finest pieces of TV I've seen in recent memory. Up there with True Detective Season 1 quality of writing. Hopefully it sticks the landing.
Not only did Ferdinand Porsche make tractors, he also helped design tanks for the Wehrmacht in WW2. I believe he was also an an honorary officer of the SS!
First episode of Task on Sky Atlantic was very good indeed. HBO show, so expect high production values - heavily character driven, well written. Ruffalo his usual good value for money as the grizzled FBI field agent struggling with a family tragedy from the past but Tom Pelphrey has been the standout so far - he was Bunker in Banshee, and he's great as the conflicted family man caught up in some naughty business.
