I also see no reason to forego my usual 6-0 Rangers, Dembele first goal win double. Albeit the odds aren't looking as generous this morning, which is typical when Spaceman_P does the Fred.

The magic of the cup....

And the £100,000 winner is.....Mr. Smith from SE25!

Of all the suggestions made, I'd recommend Palace send a strong team up there for a PSF and don't take their appearance fee. Good on Palace, too.

So, what you're saying Edward, there is some hope common sense will prevail, in the end!

Very true.

However, this doesn't excuse companies in the customer service sectors from not providing their front facing staff with the requisite training to do the basics of the job.

It's not exclusive to our provider in W12, it's a phenomenon worldwide in my experience. To often workers in these sectors are looked down upon by employers and the public alike, and things have worsened post-Covid.

It won't improve because soon, very soon, your halftime repast will be handled by the mind numbness of AI/vending machines.

If your theory is correct, then I'll lay money it won't work. Because when all is said and done: You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

The 10,000 hours rule of Malcolm Gladwell is ringing in my ears and if the underlying feeling, nous, and footballing ability isn't there, you're unlikely to 'teach' it in, and even less so with a 22 year old (Stallone in 'Escape to Victory' being an exception).

The other way round, then yeah, you can take a tubby kid improve even more through 'coaching' and getting them fit.

QPR Business & strategy Q&A
at 17:10 30 Jan 2026

Aside of a few, Australians haven't really cut it in the English game, so what's the business (and footballing) rationale for heavily investing in importing boatloads of them and buying a club out there?

Imagine Sterling going full pelt down the right, only to be overtaken by Mbengue bellowing in his ear for the ball, so he can bomb on and cross it to whomever the fcuk he's aiming for in the Upper Loft.

I'm in!!

The drinking prowess of sailors explained by a Spaceman. Sometimes, you just can't make things up on here.

Very interesting etc., but let's cut to the chase here: Are you doing the Cov match fred tomorrow?

A fellow Rfosi mate of mine, was pulled over at a police road block near the Med and asked by an officer if he'd been drinking?

My mate replied that he'd had a couple of 'small' glasses of wine with his lunch. The officer rebuked him, and I kid you not, by replying with great theater, 'No! I asked, if you 'had' been drinking. That's not drinking!' and promptly sent my mate on his way.

Similar situation over here. All for safe roads, but this is as motivated by a money grab than speed reduction for if it were not, then the toll roads would be full of speed cams.

The government has increased the fines to be charged and, in some instances, jail time will follow if you're caught doing some heavy duty speeding. Although heralded as measures to stop speeding, I read from a reliable source, that in some instances, speed signs will be removed and people were expected to know the prevailing speed limits based on the roads you are traveling on. A tad cheeky.

Anyway, it's working! 2026 kicked off with a letter from President Macron addressed to me saying, 'Monsieur Planète, Pony up 45 euros sil vous plait. Cordialment. Emmanuel.

What do you do? Shrug the shoulders, pout, then make some noise from the front part of the mouth, before parting with your hard earned.

Three-game weeks
at 07:40 29 Jan 2026

If you buy a JCS type, then your fitness/rehab team really needs to be top notch. If it's not, then buying a JCS type is more fraught with danger than not. For me, it's as simple as that!

Given our concerns about the fitness/rehab situation, with this reliance on rotation for the mythical three-game week, then we're seeing the fitter players having to cover more which, given our model, places them in a position where they're likely to pick up injuries and/or suffer from fatigue.

What is abundantly clear: we didn't look fit from the start of the season - relying on playing-in to fitness - and we still look unable to sustain any sort of intensity for the full duration of a game, in sharp comparison to most teams I see us play against.

For me: this side of QPR is simply not working, and hasn't been for sometime.

New broom and all that. Has the feel of a bloke with a laptop full of tricks, applying them to QPR through a reliance on data, data, data.

However, as I never truly rated his predecessor, Nourry has at least made an effort to drag QPR into the 21st century as opposed to the feeling I had that pre-him, it was an old-boys club knows best.

Jury still out, still some key areas where we're poor. Comms, fitness, and injuries management. Sort those out, and it'll start to feel that the effects of Fernandes are behind us.

Last year, 4/10. Now, 6.5/10.

I think you're spot on Brian.

Admittedly many before him never bothered, and MF certainly tried. However, that's the very minimum we should expect, but effort alone can't mask the fact that he wasn't much more than a trier, when fit.
