No mention of pitch invasion/flares then?
Strange…

Council refused to grant a 10 year lease to the club according to national league statement & other options put forward were not deemed as acceptable by the EFL. Fans shafted… no change there.

Like the sound of this, a sensible & well thought out statement IMO.
In terms of the proposed training facility I hope the new owners seriously consider TBA, it would be a task to clear up the mess but the size of plot is more than capable of accommodating a first class set up. If the site can be purchased for a reasonable price, we can get the council, MP & all potential stakeholders on board then a bid for Govt grant/levelling up cash must be worth a serious effort.

Im afraid I’ve got a problem with both the league position & the style of football. It’s been a difficult watch this season, possibly as bad as I can remember for many years.
NcNultys obsession with pedestrian possession based football at all costs makes me wonder if he’s got an autographed copy of Peps pop up book of football tactics.
Im not wedded to any particular style of play but the bottom line is that if we don’t put a winning team on the pitch then all the off field initiatives in the world won’t make a blind bit of difference.
For that reason I think we need to go with a change of management & a change of ethos. Our priority must be to get back into the football league, not just sticking with a particular style of play in the hope that we can sell a young player on to a Prem / Championship side just because he’s been coached in a way that those clubs prefer.
Surely ability & natural talent will shine through regardless?
Let’s not forget that we are at the lowest point in the clubs history that any of us can remember… & for the posters on here who think that mere survival is enough “as long as we have a club to watch”, if you accept that then that’s what we could well end up with.
It’s not what I want & I believe we should aim for so much more than that.

Would prefer next Tues myself, Thurs will be bang in the middle of Eid celebrations so taxis especially going back home for folk could be hard to come by.

Initial thoughts are promising. A local guy who’s not looking to profit off the back of the club. Excellent news about the 30 day funding. More upbeat than I’ve been for a while after reading the statement.
Let’s see in 4-5 weeks.

I think if you're going to develop a site like TBA then you have to go the whole hog, it’d be pointless developing half the site while leaving the rest, who would want to play sport right next to an abandoned contaminated asbestos factory? Wholly agree about cleaning it up though, it’s an eyesore & an embarrassment to the town.
I don’t think a stadium there is viable as access is very limited as it is but as a sports / fitness/ rehabilitation centre why not? You could easily fit 5-6 pitches on the site, throw in an athletics track & fitness suite with rehab centre / hydrotherapy pool (could be used in conjunction with the NHS)? & you might have a contender for levelling up cash. The more users the better, schools, dale & Hornets training, coaching sessions for kids in the holidays, Rochdale harriers, NHS physio & rehab sessions etc…
More end users means more potential funding, something a new MP could get his teeth into…??

Trust statement - Resignation

I echo all the sentiments on here. George will be a huge loss both in terms of knowledge & commitment to the trust.
We urgently need a statement from the trust to clarify their position.

Great result under the circumstances & one I certainly wasn’t expecting! Let’s take this into Tues & give us a home win lads, a positive performance will take our minds off all the other stuff at least for a while.

Exactly. It’s anything but “commendable” by the club is it? One half arsed effort for the Fylde game & apart from that it’s squeeze yet more hard earned cash from the same fans… There appears to be either a complete lack of vision from the club or a paralysis in the decision making process.

& this is what gets my goat.
GMP can accommodate Prem games, even city v united derbies at seemingly any time to suit the whims of tv but apparently can’t manage to police a dale v owdum game at 3pm!!

Saving money…

Having a chat with a few of the lads at HT yesterday & the subject of the Willbutts stand came up. It was open yesterday for less than 200 Kidderminster fans. Surely they could have been accommodated in the end block of the Pearl st?
For next season a couple of ideas were floated-
1- close the Pearl st completely next season. Existing season ticket holders could transfer into the main stand for a 1 season discounted price or obviously transfer to the Sandy if they wished. Make the Willbutts half home / half away with pay on the day only for home fans so the stand could be altered if there was a large away following
2- close the Willbutts completely & have a similar arrangement as above put in place for the Pearl st stand. Basically the consensus was that with our crowds & away followings in this league 4 stands open just isn’t necessary (unless playing the Biffos of course).
Thoughts?

I didn’t hear a single person around me say that. The regulars would say “a wins a win” etc but today was (or should have been) all about entertainment for the £1 punters. There was none of that on display this afternoon.

“People skills” aka…
Fookin useless
Unapproachable
Dogmatic.
Give a barely trained person on minimum wages a badge/walkie talkie/semblance of authority, sit back & watch the carnage.
EDIT
God help us if over 6k fans turn out on Boxing Day & some of the issues previously mentioned on here aren’t addressed by then, could be a very messy experience trying to get in on the day (& I’m betting now that less than 300 fylde fans turn up)…

Amid all the off field shenanigans has anyone noticed that there’s currently no info from the club re tickets / pricing for this game?
