Someone has pointed me in the direction of this.
This analysis is of the old PSR rules which have been consigned to the scrap heap and replaced by the new Squad Cost Rules from this season.
As to the fairness, I guess it depends on the criteria it is being judged by. |

As an Overview, the basis for FFP has changed from being based on the club’s annual accounts to being based on cash flow. In the club’s accounts all of the profit from Eze would have been accounted for when the deal was made, where as the receipts would only have been shown in the cash flow when they were received. |

As you’d expect it goes deeper than I’ve covered, but there is nothing that I’d regard as unreasonable or complicated. |

Yes, will that do?
Money received is now king. Obviously there are a few provisos around that, but the total deal is now irrelevant it is the payment instalments. So our favourite deal, the sale of Eze, would have put £8m into two consecutive seasons rather than £16m into one. |

I'm thoroughly enjoying watching a recording of Bowie on his Reality tour with Earl Slick laying waste to many of Bowie's staple songs. While I know that and understand why, many would rate Mick Ronson as the greatest of Bowie's guitarists, (and without doubt his influence in the early days was massively important) he plays it too safe for me. Until recently Earl Slick would have got my vote as the ultimate Bowie guitarist but then I obtained a recording of Bowie at Milton Keynes. Adrian Belew! Wow, just wow! No one owns Station to Station, Stay and White Light White Heat like he does.
As a slight aside, for any Bowie lovers out there, can I recommend they go to the Lightroom in Coals Drop Yard Kings Cross to watch "You’re Not Alone"; its great. |

The owners have invested, in round terms, £73m in the last 3 seasons we have seen the accounts for. However this money has also been spent on the training facility, paying off some loans and the club's bank balance has increased significantly.

Where I've got to at the moment is
Squad Costs, which are the total of
Player related expenditure
Manager (Head Coach) related expenditure
Amortisation
and agents fees
Less non-established U21 player wages
must not exceed
85% of the total of
football income
profit on non-football income
3 year average of profit on player trading
plus allowable equity injection (£33m over 3 seasons, no more than £15m in any one season)
The official regulations are not available yet so don't take this as gospel. |

A couple of things I've seen on this are
1) the allowable equity is based on 25% of the difference between year 1 parachute payment and the standard Championship solidarity payment.
2) the profit on players sold will be 85% of the average of the last 3 seasons.
We really need to see the regulations to be sure. |

The pertinent part is:
Championship clubs are voting on a proposal to align with the Premier League from next season by replacing their profitability and sustainability (P&S) rules with a squad cost ratio system that would cap spending on player costs at 85% of football revenue.
The proposed change would permit an annual equity injection of about £10m to count towards a club’s revenue and increase spending capacity, whereas under P&S rules, losses are capped at £39m in the Championship over a three-year period. |

I'm off to Montenegro for a few nights at the end of this month, big family holiday in Cannes at the end of July and then a few nights, probably in Malta, in the autumn. |

If you take the investment in the training facility out of the equation, the investment is pretty flat. It becomes unsustainable when Ruben (or whoever he finds to buy him out) has had enough. Thankfully Ruben appears to be poles apart from Chansiri.
