Oh come on, Sheehan has a track record here, we know what he can do. That is in no way an assumption, it's a fact. he's taken a team that Luke Williams made look utterly rubbish and had them churning out form good enough for the play offs at least.

If a coach that gets good results doesn't deserve a chance then why does a coach from a team in a worse league deserve a chance? Hellberg has no history here, in fact it's an assumption that he'd be a better candidate because if we can't use Sheehans record then why can we use Hellbergs? Sheehans is undoubtedly more relevant because it's the Championship and he's gotten good results in 2 different spells.

OK, lets give Hellberg the job but don't anybody who supported him dare whinge if he flops, I too promise not to moan if Sheehan flops nor gloat if he succeeds.

Of course, it's entirely possible that both of them are good choices, how about we offer the job to Hellberg only as long as Sheehan is his Number 2, if Sheehan wants it?

Nah, I've made my choice, I want Sheehan for better or for worse. Hellberg is on a hiding to nothing if he gets it because the Sheehan supporters will be dubious from day one whereas AS has our full support.

Changes to existing dental practices
at 18:04 23 Apr 2025

That's quite childish don't you think? You're presented with information and instead of commenting on that you post nonsense.

As it goes I have an NHS dentist but tbh, they are pretty awful. The last time I needed them they made a botch job, the tooth still gives me problems but I don't want to go back, we are seriously considering moving to a local private practise because they have a decent rep.

This proposed change will possibly kill off NHS dentistry in Wales. Doees anyone think that'll be an improvement?

I'd agree with you. How can a CEO of a company get a bonus of any kind when they are breaking the rules so badly? It's being rewarded fpor failure.

It's hardly an assumption, it's based on evidence.

We can't assume Hellberg is a better candidate either, his record in Sweden can be good but he won't be the first manager with a good record to flop at his next club, it's always a gamble.

I'm ot assuming we can't do better, I'm saying the evidence shows Sheehan deserves a chance based on his record. He may fail, he may get us promoted, who knows because...it's always a gamble but at least with AS it's not a complete unknown and it's not going to be an expensive fail.

Swans still to have official talks with Sheehan
at 17:31 23 Apr 2025

Nobody was upset at Sheehan getting the jon as caretaker, his previous record suggested he'd be a safe pair of hands in the short term.

Then we had the benefit of longer exposure to him and his ability, this isn't fans being fickle, this is Sheehan having proved himself over 10 games and more. Yes he is the cheap option still but largely because we won't have to buy out a contract to get him here, he'll still deserve a proper contract on suitable terms.

Thing is, taking their time now isn't seen as being wise, what more does Sheehan have to do to get the nod from them? Then, what if we lose him and they appoint the person it's been suggested Gorringe wants and he's a total failure?

Taking their time was giving him til the end of the season, still "thinking about it" now is dithering at best because he has proved himself to the players, proved himself to the vast majority of the fans, he's gotten better results than anybody expected too.

What more does he have to do?

Yeah, I work in and around the NPT borough and I very rarely see a Cardiff shirt. Plenty of EPL shirts though.

Another good win, some really good football at times.

O wonder what is going through our owners minds, how can they not think Sheehan is the right person for the job, surely this week they HAVE to offer him the job?

If we lose Sheehan and next season is another flop they'll get a roasting. If Sheehan gets it and he flops there'll be very little said because the fans want him and the players seem to quite like him too!

I think most of us have stories like this now. Even a simple thing like a blood test has a 3 week wait if you book at Morriston.

It's just not good enough.

Date set for Nantes hearing on Cardiff quest for Sala compensation
at 08:10 21 Apr 2025

Yet another broadstroke insult eh, typical of you.

Sala was NOT Nantes player, how he travelled was not their responsibility. What it really comes down to is choice, Cardiff had the choice to insist on a commercial flight, Sala had the choice to take a commercial flight from his own pocket, he also had the choice whether or not to board that aircraft which, apparently by his own words, was a tad ramshackle.

Nantes are no more negligent than anybody else in this, they had no power, no control over Sala's actions.

The rest is your predictable trust nonsense.

My 16 year old son will probably be exactly like that. He'll say walking down to vote will be too much effort. If he's not getting paid for doing something, it's too much effort

Actually that shows you don't know how the internet works, peolle post all sorts of things both right and wrong.

I didn't guess anything, this survey didn't involve him getting EVERY English retiree to tell him which way they voted, that's not how these things are done. He will have contacted a certain number then multiplied the results out and claim they are accurate. To start with how does he get the contact details for over 600,000 people? There's a data protection issue issue right there.
University survey results can be wrong due to various factors, including statistical errors, bias, and limitations in how surveys are designed and conducted

You tyourself have promoed this idea of civic Welshness on here, you know it's true. As such either you believe in it or you don't. As with many things, you pick and choose when you believe something depending on whether ot suits your argument. In this case you thumb your nose at the English retirees but on another day it'll be something you like so you'll welcome them as "civically Welsh" becvause hypocrisy runs deep in you.

PS, what people voted for, it doesn't matter where they live, Welsh or English, it only matters in the context of the Uk because of the votes cast in the UK most chose leave. Those people were making a choice as British citizens which is something that we forget.

I'll tell you what I suspect, McKay wanted something in return for guaranteeing his advice that a player he dealth with should sign for Cardiff. Rather than a big paper bag full of cash they did it a more sneaky way.

Dodgy dealings have gone on all th time in sport, I used to read the "secret footballer" and he had several books out, agents don't have great reps and the ex pro's books didn't help.

red hair and freckles, you need to check your geneology then, you're more likley to be of Scottish or Irish descent?

Again you feel entitled to call others morons, a bit of introspection might help you.

What damage have reform done to Wales?

It wasn't just mines and factories, I'm born and bred in the Mumbles, many families from down that way have Northern Cornish and Devon blood, fishing stock see, my great, great grnadfather was from North Devon. The old Mumbles slang is really quite Cornish sounding, not that you hear it much these days. In that sland I think I'd have been an "innalong"

You may not be English but do a DNA test, you may not be very Welsh either. You can also thank the Romans for all the European blood in your genes.

Do you think watching the news or reading the WoL is scouring xocial media? Is posting about a big news story negativity or just repeating the truth.

Put another way, if there is a banner headline story on the WoL and it's posted on here, is that wrong?

Ummm...no, that is so wrong it's laughable. I'll start with don't trust politicians and I'll continue with just because there is a Welsh government it's not traitorous to want to scrap such a useless, tinpot collection of th useless, greedy, negligent and downright irresponsible who only stood for the Senedd because they'd never get near Westminster.

People in Wales want better and that means better from Westminster too.

There's a few on here who support reform but not many and those of us who won't vote reform but still want the Senedd scrapped, which pigeon hole do you want to cram us into?

There is definitely a culture amongst some in wales to attack anything English and then we hear the beeping when they are called out for it.

Oh this again, you go on about "civic Welshness" when it suits you but again this post betrays your true feelings about English people in Wales.

As I pointed out to you, unless Dorling spoke to every English retiree and they told him exactly how he voted his "research" is no better than an exit poll and just as accurate as the brexit polls, in other words, not accurate. It may be right, it may not be.

Even so, if we allow your "civic Welshness" idea to stand youn have to accept that these Welsh residents represented Wales when they voted so your point is moot.

For my money this isn't about dismissing anybody out of hand, it's about saying the person in charge right now has done such a fantastic job that it'd be silly to not give him the job.

Besides the fact he's got a fairly weak squad showing almost play off form (you coud say that's doing well with an unfancied team) if we bring someone in from another club it will literally cost the club money that we apparently don't have. I don't see the sense?

Sheehan has provided good results, the fans love him, the players love him AND he's the cheap option, surely that ticks every box?

Tha's not my question...

How can any sensible person believe that Sala would have saved them from relegation? There is zero way to prove that.
