I think 4-0 to us after our away performance and the fact so many were rested v West Brom, he'll want a response. I'm pretty confident of 6 points by the end of Sunday |

Add on Darnell Furlong and Massimo Luongo I think too |

You are bang on there as I listened to the commentary too... They said about Phillips getting a head on every set piece and literally 30 secs later it happened and they got their 2nd and it is annoying we (as in a team) cannot identify these things. I think Morrison was suggesting that Kone doesn't run enough, and he is right but normally he has Burrell doing the running and he is winning the ball. He does not look comfortable up front with last nights formation (another thing picked up in comms last night) We came out in the 2nd half and initially sounded like we were going to take the game to them, and then a needless free kick (of which we have given many away recently) costs us a 2nd goal and unusually we looked deflated without the usual fight to get back on level terms. To me that is the team dynamic and with 5 changes was going to happen I guess. |

Did you also vow to young Crowe that in future you will leave starting a match thread to the experts #askingforafriend |

Come on Nix - Get a grip... Some here much prefer the conspiracy theory, or worse still that the club is lying, and the man that only a few years ago had never been in the know in his life, now seems to be ITK all things related to our club. We keep saying that its a positive thing that Poku, JCS and probably Kolli are being managed back from injuries but some don't want to believe that either. It is all rather tiresome |

Come on now. He would hardly be sat in the away end if he was off in January |
 | Forum Reply | Pompey match thread at 19:33 27 Dec 2025
Mate wind your neck in, I was joking... All the rumours been banging around, thought I would ask a question |
 | Forum Reply | Pompey match thread at 19:14 27 Dec 2025
So then Clive, did you ask him the 2 burning questions: 1) is he injured 2) Is he off in January |
 | Forum Reply | January transfer rumours at 17:55 27 Dec 2025
Agreed, its no coincidence that Saito had one of his best games in a while last week when JCS was playing, as soon as JCS went off so did our performance. And PH, I agree with you, it is a case of 'when fit' but I really believe that with all his injuries, they are adopting the approach of, 'when in doubt, pull him out' rather than take unnecessary risks again |

I watched the Portsmouth game and we really did miss JCS - He makes a huge difference when fit and playing |

Came down to the Aussies batting I think - Just did not handle the conditions and England actually did for a change, The batting for England was much better The monkey off the back now having won a test. Think next Aussies tour will be completely different with the teams too so it was important |
 | Forum Reply | Ashes thread at 06:25 27 Dec 2025
We only gone and won a test down under Well done England |

I have been highly critical of our batsmen but on this one, I have a degree of sympathy. Apparently this is the 2nd hardest 1st day pitch in 101 tests: 'The overall PitchViz rating of the day's play at the MCG was 8.7 out of 10 (higher number equals more difficult to bat) - making it the second toughest day-one pitch in Australia in the past 101 Tests when there have been 40-plus overs played.' I have to agree with others that the ground staff are killing test cricket with pitches like this - No fun for any audience in the grand scheme of things. |

I think also, we are looking towards improving on last season... So that's a point as opposed to none. I know, grasping at straws but 1 point from all our away games and 3 points from our home games is promotion form so we've done the necessary Lets remedy things against West Brom and do our first double of the season |
 | Forum Reply | Pompey match thread at 16:55 26 Dec 2025
Well - A point after that 1st half performance is better than nothing |
 | Forum Reply | Pompey match thread at 16:46 26 Dec 2025
Thought that - He'd have to be carried off before he would give up |
