That's just selective memory. For every game where we "have done likewise for donkeys years", there are plenty more where we haven't; much like every other club, in fact. Off the top of my head, Leeds, Cheltenham (to win promotion), Northampton (to win promotion), Tottenham, Newcastle, Stockport (1987), Hull (2002 to get into the play-offs for the first time), Darlington (to get to Wembley), Charlton (as featured extensively over the past week), beating both Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday in 2010/11, etc. [Post edited 22 Apr 14:19]

Although a win would be better, a draw will be enough with Gateshead playing Southend on the final day and also taking our vastly superior goal difference into account. |

We actually beat Bolton four times in 2019/20, although one was on penalties in the EFL Trophy. Three wins against: Altrincham (2024/25) Bolton (2019/20) plus one win on pens Chesterfield (2016/17) Crewe (2014/15) Oxford (2004/05) Carlisle (1999/00) Doncaster (1997/98) Darlington (1995/96) Lincoln (1989/90) Crewe (1983/84) Barrow (1965/66) Stockport (1964/65) Hartlepool (1946/47) |

Depends who else comes up, but the fact remains, someone will have to travel there in midweeks and at Christmas/New Year, while they will have to also travel somewhere else. It's an inescapable fact that there will be some distances to be covered. Yeovil would likely be one of their Christmas/New Year fixtures, with Torquay the other, if they come up. If not, they'll be looking at the likes of Forest Green, Eastleigh, a potential Sussex promotee and then heading towards the London area. |

Why would Worthing be coming up the M4? It runs horizontally from London to Wales! Hopefully Scunthorpe won't come up. Been there enough times, played them at home enough times and they would likely be another challenging team near the top. Brackley and Chorley for me. |

You’re right, our away record hasn’t been good enough, especially since Christmas and especially against the lower placed teams. Nobody has said otherwise, but the fact Solihull beat us at home seven months ago still has no bearing on what they will do 19 days from now. They might win again, we might win, or it might be a draw. I was just replying to your comment about Solihull and the game in hand because I didn't agree with it, with what I think is my first response to one of your posts for a significant amount of time. It's still a game in hand, though, which is what is being discussed. What they did in the first fixture last September is irrelevant. We won at Boston, but lost to them at home, for instance. |

What about the average points tally with five games to play? For example, before Easter weekend last season, which was at the end of March, Halifax were in 7th place with 62 points from 39 games. In other words, one more point than we are on now, but from one less game, which suggests the top 7 were doing slightly better a year ago. |
