I’m in Maspalomas Gran Canaria. It’s been a hot one today. Merry Christmas everyone |

Didn’t we sign Wright and Cassells together ? Was it a buy one get one free deal ? Mark Wright was a good player. I still have nightmares when he collided with Shilton and broke his leg against Liverpool. It was a fa cup semi final at white hart lane. I was standing just behind Shilton and heard the crack of his leg breaking. Merry Christmas 😬🙈 [Post edited 23 Dec 16:27]

I agree. I think we’re like Coventry last season. Maybe we’ll be in the playoffs but for what. Last season had to be one of the most depressing I’ve experienced. Being in the premiership might have its financial gains but as a fan if the team isn’t ready it’s just what’s the point. It’s a lot more enjoyable being in a league where you can actually win some games . I’m in Gran Canaria for Christmas. Unbelievable what sunshine can do for your wellbeing ☀️🌴 Felix Navidad 🎅🏻 |

Well said.. One of the things I’ve always missed living in Denmark is the British pub culture. There’s a few in Århus which are okay but many places have the clientele like you’ve mentioned. As you say they’re a bunch of wånkers |

I guess most posters on here at some point have played football, if you’re physically able to do so of course. For me I mostly played right back, sometimes left but I was always a right foot player. I played for my senior school for the 5 years I was there Then I graduated to play for local teams. Being in my late teens I couldn’t be bothered anymore with serious football, so I played Pub Sunday games. The 10am kickoff was hard after being on the juice the previous night, but having a few pints and a packet of crisps after helped. I was okay but not great, my attribute was I was good at running. Which got worse the more nights out I had 🙈 What about you lot , were you any good ? [Post edited 15 Dec 18:19]

You must have a short memory my friend 🙄 I am against bullying but also against someone who acts like a 10 year old on a football forum. If you can go back to my old posts then try and do the same with this muppet |

It’s a bit longer than a few weeks. Does it upset you that I’m calling out a Pompey fan on the forum ? I always think positive about my team. I admit I was wrong about Will Still but at the time, I only tried to see the way forward . If you think as a fellow Saints fan (I think you are) that I just should shut up and go away, then of course I can. My comments might not agree to yours but don’t criticise someone with other opinions |

Great story Pat. How was it being together with fans from other clubs ? Being England fans you have a bond but still… The few games I saw at the old Wembley, I couldn’t get my head around it. Supporting your country whilst surrounded by fans you would normally think as complete wånkers |

Reading about some posters on here going to the World Cup, you all have my upmost respect. I’ve never been to one but I remember watching my first one. It was in 1978 , all the tikka tape and Argentina winning against Holland The one I most enjoyed was in 1990. I still lived in England then and it was a great long hot summer. What was your first Word Cup and your favourite one ? Its not so much about England but what you had going on in your life at the time. |

Sunshine 🙈 I’m impressed you can spell such a long word. Well done you. My kids are grown up now but I have a few books left over. Winnie the pooh and Paddington Bear. Would you like them ? I also have a couple of old Teletubbies videos. Please don’t get scared, it’s not real. They are actors wearing the costumes. Its mainly made for small kids but also people with learning difficulties You never know maybe this time next year you can put two long words in a sentence. I [Post edited 14 Dec 9:52]

Are you talking to yourself ?? Like I said , go and watch Jackanory or Blue Peter . Once you’ve finished your tea then it’s bedtime. 10 year olds aren’t allowed in Pubs, its the same way on internet forums . Go and play with your Action Man or Barbie . I’m sure the rest of your tribe will join in. |

Can’t you go and play somewhere else, preferably in the middle of the M25. The grownups are talking now, it’s past your bedtime. Maybe one of us can read a good night story if you like. What about this one it’s called “I’m a sad Fck” I guess you probably know it, you and your… “friends” [Post edited 13 Dec 11:46]

Phil Boyer was a great player for us in the old div2 We have someone similar now, who can score at this level but will struggle in the premiership (div1) Guess who… As a young lad I loved watching him play. Ivan Golac was my favourite though, he played the same position as I did then. |

How and when did it take over your football life ?? For me I grew up in London and had (no more) two brothers who were West Ham mad. In the late 70s we moved to Andover during that time I started going to games with my school mates. By the early eighties I was a full Saints fan, much to the disgust of my brothers. Years later I was accepted as the odd one out, and Saints/West Ham results were a fixture on Saturday evening.. I saw a lot of games during the 80s, most at the Dell but some at Upton Park. I always had a soft spot for West Ham(for obvious reasons) but have been a true Saints supporter since 1979, when I saw Tony Funnell score the only goal in a win over Palace.
