Southampton At Tottenham Hotspur The Verdict
at 04:01:21

I cannot remember a more complete, dominating game over a supposed big team away in a long time. This goes back to my first match as a nipper in 1957. We’ve had good teams along the way, especially in the late 70’s and 80’s but this came out of the complete BLUE! Everything and every player ticked. Not one player was average…they all played their hearts out and they just looked like they were in a different time zone. Please boys, keep this game close in your memory and get the same result on Saturday.

Southampton V Aston Villa The Verdict
at 18:16:04

Agree DirkDoone, the ball is in fact a long blur, a fussy elongated ball, indicating that it is not the spit second the ball left the boot. The previous frame or two is the correct one that should have been viewed. 100% agree on your second point, Romeu was standing there waiting for the ball to drop, their goalie dropped it. The Cash handball.....well what can you say. It was a deliberate attempt to stop the ball with his hand, regardless whether it scuffed thigh or not, he was attempting to prevent a goal regardless. That fact should have gone into the decision making. 3-1 win for sure.

Southampton V Liverpool The Verdict
at 04:23:11

I was very nervous before this game. We were without Adams, Vesty, McCarthy, Romeu and Redmond. How could we win against the might of Liverpool? The magical goal within 2 minutes was incredible. The mighty Reds were caught by surprise. It was a pure strikers goal. Ings instinctively knew where the goal was. Because of that goal, the belief was stamped into the side. The first half was fairly comfortable. The ‘Pool were playing catch up, not their comfort zone. We knew that they would come out in the second half like a Banshee. They did but it was always blunted by our back 4. Stephens and Bednarak were huge. The whole 10 out field players were in tune together. I thought Diallo had a huge game, he seemed very calm and in control. Armstrong was great at taking the ball forward from midfield. But the biggest part of the game was the youngsters. Tella, Valery, N’Lundulu were so good in the last15 minutes. Tella needs an extra shout...he looks like a great future asset.I got to admit that the least 30 minutes were nervous, but the more it went on the idea of a win was a possibility. Mane was their only threat but was basically snuffed out by Walker-Peters. A win for the ages. The biggest part of the game was Ralph’s breakdown of joy at the end. I have never seen, in 60+ years of following the Saints, ever seen that emotion from our gaffer. Please God, keep the vultures away from our team. Long may they build on this triumph!

Saints At Brighton The Verdict
at 01:56:50

We marginally won that game.....Saints had no rhythm and the press like we have been having. Jannik was huge tonight, great goal and a rock in defence and teamed up well with Bednarek. Dejnepo was a lost soul out there, too much individual play to no end and if he hadn’t been pulled at halftime he would have been red carded for sure in the second. Redmond looked more of a better choice. JWP was less effective than of late. Until Ings came on the odds for me were for a Brighton win. He seems to give the team a mental lift. He also looks like he loves playing as a Saint....give him a new contract and a huge raise asap...he’s worth every penny. Adams is lost without him. Ralph needs a good week on the practice field to remind them how they played before the International break. 3 points against Sheffield would be nice but let’s see what team turns out. I got a feeling RH will will get it done.

Does LD Sports Pulling Out Suggest Takeover Imminent At St Mary's
at 18:53:11

If this is true, it is a very sudden decision. New kit etc. Maybe the clause had something about if the ownership changes then they can withdraw their sponsorship. Personally I would love to have a British owner with deep pockets, passionate about the team and not a stay away, invisible one like Kat or Mr GAO. My vote would be Sir Jim Radcliffe, a big sponsor of sports teams with local connections and a home in Beaulieu. He could even develop the lands around the stadium for added benefits. I’d better pinch myself to wake up from my dream!

Saints Rumoured To Be Up For Sale

I know that he has said that he is not interested in a Premier League Club but I would love to see it owned locally by Jim Radcliffe. Lives in Beaulieu and has two Yachts named “Hampshire” and is a big sports supporter.....could do a lot worse.

Definitely time for Gallagher to show what he can do. If the big guy can hold the line and feed Charlie or Gabbi, then this is the time to prove it.

Semi Finalist Fan Groups Issue Joint Statement On Ticket Prices
at 06:24:29

Wow, sitting here in Canada gives us the advantage of getting early morning news releases first before the UK wakes up. Today’s news ....Saints made a profit AFTER taxes of £34M. Incredible increase from last year. How was this achieved? Selling VVD? More revenue sources than that are identified by the Board. The supporters will now be complaining that more investment in players should be done in order to stop a situation that we are now in. Got to agree. Success breeds success. Our smart board must be patting themselves on the back. God forbid if we go down.....what does all this money mean then?

Day 30 ! Saints Fans Not Happy

Sweeten the pot ffs. He sounds like a natural born scorer. We have a decent enlightened mid field line and the back line is not too shabby. Ok , we let in goals this year but if we can out score the opposition we will

Southampton FC A Fan's Perspective
at 20:06:26

Well written. Money rules today. Enormous fortunes now control the Premier League and other leagues in other countries. I think in a few years we will be seeing the dawning of the new “Super League” in Europe. 75mill for VVD, now 140mill for Cortinuo....we can’t possibly meet these levels of spending. The top six will seek out greater fortunes, along with Barca, Ral Madrid, Juventus, PSG etc. We will have to settle for the PL also rans. Unfortunately the good talent will still carry on being poached away. Sorry state really, thank God I got to see the old fashioned game of years ago.

Saints Need To Find Consistency
at 19:32:50

I would love to see Hoedt and VVD pair up from the start, with Yoshida standing by if needed. No knock on him...but just to try it. Have Austin start with Gabbi and Boufal start over Tadic and Redmond. Davis made tons of great passes last weekend, so has to start. Let Lemina go forward a little deeper and see what he can create. My team...Forster, Bertram, Soares, VVD, Hoedt, Romeu, Lemina, Davis, Boufal, Gabbi and Austin.

Saints At Stoke City The Verdict
at 18:26:48

Heres a thought, keep Yoshida and Hoedt together and play the big man, VVD up front. We looked better near the end when he moved up. Big strong target is what we are missing. Virgil with Gabbi or Austin to pick up his scraps.

Where Is The Positivity !
at 06:37:51

By the time the most Saints fans in the UK read this, and before I awake (4:30am in Canada) Saints will have had a real test and the game is over. CP having their new manager combined with our lack of goals and self confidence, we have a real challenge. They will be empowered, we will be nervous and possibly struggling to find confidence. My wish is that we get our shit together and win by anyway we can. Loose this one and it goes downhill fast. Get Gabbi the ball!!! I hope VVD starts and he and Hoedt stay strong. FF saves and commands his goal area. I will wake in about 8+hrs to hopefully see that we won.

Yoshida Signs New Deal At St Mary's

Consigliere, you are spot on. He's a professional that gets on with his game. Forget the bullsh*t from the stands, press, he gives out his best each game. He has matured. If we loose him, we may regret it. Keep up the good work Maya.

Decision On Hoedt On Friday
at 03:54:51

I agree with Sanguin (by the way, do I know you?). Pellegrino will not not start Hoedt Saturday. I expect the same first team that we had versus West Ham. He may be on the bench...but he should have at least 10 days to get into the groove. One another note...Fraser being dropped should send him a message to get more coaching, he's not got it right now.

Saints Confirm Takeover
at 17:28:20

I'm cautiously optimistic. This deal has been so long and protracted, whether that's just about getting the money out of China or the structure of the "deal". I'm sure Kat and Ralph have been pretty adamant on what they want Mr Gao's position to look like going forward. I would imagine the level of investment and the terms of trading players etc have been hammered out. These two are no dummies. She want's her 20% to grow in value after all. Maybe this was the right thing to do to shut up all the clubs that have walked in and raided us in the past. hopefully the shoe will be on the other foot and we may get to do a little raiding ourselves! Anybody spell Coutinho?
