Vey common nowadays, born and bred Londoners are moving out of the place in droves, happened with relatives of mine who left London to go to Essex. There appears to be more born and bred Cockney's living in Essex these days than there are in Newham.
A grandchild has moved to Australia. Wales, Essex, English South Coast and (for youngsters) Australia seems to be very popular.
Saying you lived in London used to come with bragging rights, not anymore!
The attitude that is likely to prevail is "I might as well p1ss all my money up against the wall".
From certain sections of society of type, that end up paying for care package costs, nursing home costs, provision for house adaptations and stuff out of own savings e.g. stairlifts etc out of their own pockets will stop being responsible.
A case of why should they bother when Mr and Mrs so and so a few streets away have blown all their money on expensive holidays, and are now being looked after by the state.
I know a family member of mine whom has taken the aforementioned attitude and has every intent on lavish spending outlays rather than be taxed, punished and pursued.
Same applies to taxation on middle class, some of whom will just "take their foot of the pedal" and become lesser productive, lesser ambitious and lesser motivated.
The connective chain that bed shortages is part of means that individuals are inevitably going to die in our localities and health board area when their lives should have been saved. That is a fact!
That is an undeniable fact, because ambulance waits/delays of 12-24 hours for seriously ill patients happens on a regular basis, because ambulances are parked outside of A+E instead of providing life saving emergency intervention a.s.a.p.
People had better hope that it's not their mother, sister, parent or child. So why the celebration? What exactly is there to celebrate?
Hence my concern (talking from personal experience on page 2 of this thread) about the stark reality and requirement for rapid intervention/response when it comes to saving lives.

What raises concern with me is the reported 3 trillion debt that the country is now in, 3 trillion is three thousand billion, now that's a lot of debt. And that's a lot of zero's i.e. 3,000,000,000,000.
It's not far fetched to think that "something has got to give" and there is a devastating crisis brewing that'll hit the U.K sometime in the future, because of.
And what makes matters worse is you have got a government in charge that's got sixth form/student campus mentality. The 3K less you're getting may even get lesser if the cupboards are empty, because of the financial insanity of the current lot in charge.
