Southampton V Crystal Palace The Preview
Agree with most of your comments, but now we're free from the fear of relegation I believe Ralph should be more radical & look to next season. That means no Walcott, Redmond or Djenepo. I would also leave out JWP to speed up play through midfield rather than the continual sideways backwards play that he gives. If that means sacrificing his free kicks then so be it. So I'd have Tella, Janko, Armstrong & Diallo in midfield. If Ings is unfit then Obafemi upfront with Adams.
Time For The Premier League To Unite And Let The Big Six Go
Let them go & be rid of their financial arrogance, provided they're kicked out of all domestic competitions. Even better would be for this Super League to fail & the 'big 6' not allowed to rejoin the real football competitions.
Southampton At West Browmwich Albion The Verdict
Woeful, absolutely woeful. How to make WBA look a top 6 side. We can't blame the ref, VAR or injuries. Since December we've using this as excuses for poor results. We are just a poor team with average players.
At least no club will be buying any of our players this summer, unfortunately.
The defence will get the blame but thee space we afforded WBA between our defence & midfield was criminal. JWP & Diallo were nothing short of abysmal. If they were told not to tackle or run back they executed the instructions perfectly.
Walcott & Redmond in the same side is a luxury we can't afford.
Ralph's substitutions are baffling, with the game gone after an hour why wait until the 87th minute before making your 2nd substitution. Surely Tella &Jankewitz should have been given a decent run.
Can see another 9-0 thrashing at the weekend.
Southampton At Manchester City The Verdict
Nick, you seem surprised by the criticism Redmond receives. Although not the worst Saints player last night he was still poor. The facts speak for themselves when he starts a PL game. Only 0.45pts/game when he starts as opposed to 1.65 pts/game when he doesn't. As commented above he shouldn't even be on the bench until his over inflated ego has subsided.
I thought Ralph was right last night in protecting our returning injured players who will be required for the crucial games against teams around us that are coming.
Ironic that we actually get the rub of the green with VAR when it doesn't really matter.
Why Southampton's Trip To The Etihad Shows The Premier League Is Dying
Agree 100%. The quicker the multi millionaire big 6 leave the better. The majority of games between these clubs are dull despite all the hype from the media. The public will soon get bored of watching this type of football week in week out. I can't wait for them to leave.
Southampton At Sheffield United The Verdict
Look what happens when we start a game without Redmond, we have players looking to go forward at pace. Unfortunately, I'm sure some of the big clubs will have noticed Tella's potential.
Southampton At Sheffield United The Preview
If Ralph starts Redmond he deserves to be sacked. He doesn't even warrant a place on the bench, let him stay at home and contemplate his over inflated ego. Fact is we've won just 1 PL game that he's started.
Southampton At Everton The Verdict
Unfortunately fight & spirit is not enough. We need creativity & that was woefully short. As soon as I saw Redmond starting you knew what you'd get, sweet FA & that's exactly what we got again. 50K for that performance is a joke. My dog would have been more effective & he'd play for a couple of bonios. How Ralph left him on for 87 mins is totally baffling. Please play anybody apart from Redmond. The experiment of JB at fullback is just not working, Give Ramsay anther chance.
It always felt as though Everton could move up a gear if they had to. On the positive side we only conceded 1 so goal difference not hit too much.
I'm afraid I can't see where the next win is coming from.
Southampton At Leeds United The Verdict
Really fear for the rest of the season, can't see where the next win is coming from. Great admirer of Ralph but I'd love to hear his half time talks as we're a different side in most 2nd halfs this season. No excuse for last night just plain poor. Redmond, wtf is he doing on the pitch, please lock him in the dressing room, my swear box overflows every time he plays. His attitude at being subbed was appalling, what did he expect. Only bright light was Tella who deserves a longer run in the team. Now it looks like Romeu will be out for a while. Up front there is no spark, both Ings & Adams need a break. So we can't score & averaging 3 goals/game against. Relegation form. Must stop as I'm getting took depressed
Lallana Mooted For St Mary's Return
Definitely a no no. Too old, wages too high, wouldn't survive a high pressing game as proven at Liverpool under Klopp. Wouldn't have him even on a free transfer. Let him go to Derby & join Rooney.
