Wanted him to succeed, but way out of his depth in the Championship unfortunately. Was appalled when he got an extension at the beginning of the season and can only guess that he was all we could afford. Gubbins next SURELY. |

He won't be alone. GK coach maybe, but he cannot be first choice. He was visibly declining game on game during Feb through to April... |

That was just the half time score too. Lyndon redemption arc starts this summer. 8 goals, golden boot and a £40m transfer to Man U. You heard it here first (and probably never again tbf...). |

Thought the fact that he will have Gallagher and Chillwell out there has confirmed his shite status already? Long faced Wnaker. (Him not you... )... |

Just like Dickie last year - if he does not want to be here and / or is asking for a wedge we can't afford, then seeya. No clapping on a return and no booing; you are just another oppo player that I'll want to fall on his arse after missing an open goal. Not worth thinking or posting about unless he has a massive turn round and signs. I mean, what has he given us in return for being picked up from Benfica's reserves when no-one else wanted him? We've not won anything because of him so "meh". Bye. |

I'm in. Thanks for doing this, Bri. It might actually make the close season bearable. As much as this season could have been an utter cluster, it wasn't and I am going to miss our bunch of frustrating reprobates... |

As the QPRNet Squad no. 0, I was here in the rivals day and can honestly say I am surprised you weren't a grandad then, Andy! Nah, just kidding - all the best, matey, enjoy them... |

Great thread. The team that finished last season was well on its way to being THE worst team the Championship had ever seen and it managed to get worse over the summer. I have never been so certain that squad with that manager were going to break all sorts of records in this league. I did not think we'd get to thirty goals and certainly weren't going to get to thirty points. It was awful, awful, awful. When I stopped going to games KNOWING we'd lose, which was when we started to compete was when I thought we've a chance. Watford (h) was the point for me. Even though we lost, it was only because of two worldies from a carthorse and two great saves from their 'keeper. Part of me thought that it would be typical to start getting unlucky when we started to play, but the logical part could see the improvement. But it swung back and forth. Plymouth (a) was a low point because after the Easter weekend I thought we were home and hosed. Begavic's aberration felt terminal as did the results the following weekend. I view this season as a really lucky escape and just hope for mid table obscurity next season. Compete in every game and let's not embarrass ourselves just like we did under Ainsworth. |

Three. Its the magic number. Ridiculous really, but can't ever feel confident with our lot. That said, there is so much evidence around to say that going one up in modern football gives you a MASSIVE advantage over the game. Score first and we SHOULD be more comfortable, but it never feels that way... |

He did not want to be here and, frankly, put some disgraceful performances alongside Dunne in the horror show that was the second half of last season. A cowardly player who sulked and did not want to fight for the club. Rat deserting a sinking ship who could not wait 'til he could get away. Outplayed by Dykes at Ashton Gate and I really hope we finish above them from next season. Yes, he started well with us and is obviously a good championship player, yes he seems like a nice guy, but I carry a little hate for many of that class of '22-23 who so clearly underperformed. At least Chair, Willock, Dunne, Paal and a couple of others redeemed themselves under Marti; Dickie did not and for that reason, he'll never get a decent welcome back from me. |

Yep that's the right guy. Admitting mistakes is one thing, but acting on them is another. The club needed a massive change this time last year, but they let Sir Les drift off instead of asking him to go, they did not get rid of an obviously inept Manager and instigate a clear out and they left a clearly exhausted CEO to continue. Either they have now uncovered a masterstroke in Nourry and Marti or have lucked out. Time will tell if the combo has turned the club around, and although early signs are good, our recovery could be a lot to do with a settled pair of excellent CBs and a good set of central midfielders. Have we stayed within FFP? In short, their mistake has been the same one since they first got here; they employed the wrong people to run the club for them (or in this case they left them too long and did not sack them). Hopefully they have now got that right... [Post edited 28 Apr 10:02]

If Begovic is off, it would be a great move to give Walsh a start, but if he's playing, I suspect that he will stay for one more season. He has picked up over the last couple of games, but is that because he is playing for a contract? Would prefer a younger model myself (in so many ways...) . |

No should about it. If it goes that way neither one can catch us. It won't though. We are QPR. We are cursed. Brum will beat Udders and Weds will at least draw with West Brom. Millwall will let Argyle tickle their tums and the Cov hangover from that utter travesty yesterday will let Blackburn find something. Then it'll need us to get something from Cov. or else Brum will nick a draw at Naarch and that will be that. Unlikely, but as I say we are QPR; it is what we do... |

How long did ITV leave their image up? Looked on from the first image; even with the lines on it was touch and go. Should be forensically looking at that rather than just glossing over it. ManUre will win this on pens, won't they? The FA and the top 6 make me COME ON COV! |
| Forum Reply | Shock as Gavin Ward doesn't have a terrible game at 10:10 21 Apr 2024
His weakness is EXACTLY what Watford says in this posts. He likes to "let the game flow" by letting lots of stuff go unpunished and is very lenient early on. Then he starts clamping down and gives a nonsense booking or two leading to confusion on what he will and won't tolerate. We won, so his performance matters less to us, but he was very poor as per. Aside from the handballs (the one in their pen area and the blatant ones by Willock and Anderson that went unpunished) can anyone tell me why Dykes was booked and Storey stayed on the pitch? Inconsistently inconsistent THE biggest crime of a referee if you assume that they are not cheating... [Post edited 21 Apr 12:44]
