The players so obviously had little faith in Macca's ability as an outlet for RussBall style, that it improved our game. We got the ball forward quicker and kept the pressure on much further upfield. At times Preston simply couldn't get out of their half and we weren't easing off the pressure by turning attacks into a 10 pass move back to our keeper 🙄 |

😂😂😂 It would have been a shame to have missed the full set by missing the last match! I wonder if its possible to pre book an appointment at Leeds A&E 🤔 Early ko does pre match drinking no favours, so its looking like Beers on Buses and Trains for me, and post match in Manc. Imagine the carnage if we were to pip them to an automatic spot? 😜 |

At the end of a long career, helping out old mate Alan Ball who was skates boss ay the tome in Div 3. Also had a short spell at Newcastle as well teaming up with Keegan again. That's how things worked back then. His was probably the best timed Testimonial ever. Nobody even in their wildest dreams could have imagined how the 75/76 season would finish Played football for fun, with a smile on his face and a cheeky glint in his eye. Absolute SFC legend. Let's also not forget it was his friendship with Keegan that was an important factor in the move happening. I loved seeing him being interviewed or as a pundit on tv, with his Wiltshire brogue and tendency to slip in words like bloody etc which were risque at the time My favourite quote of his was after getting a post match bolloxing from Lawrie he simply replied something like .... now look here gaffer, you have to remember playing football for me is a hobby, my real love is horse racing . But it was a hobby he did take seriously and never gave any les than 100% every match. |

Great post A1079 Exactly how I saw things. I actually felt it was the worst game I've seen all season. Blackburn were poor and we could only muster a couple of half chances and no proper shots on goal. Sorely missed Stuey. Nobody else was prepared to run forwards with the ball. All the passes to the wide players went straight to feet and facing towards our own goal, not into space in front of them to drive forward in attack, or as you said sailing over wee mans head into touch. Did KWP have instructions not to go beyond the halfway line till the last few minutes? Shoe horning Capt Jack in is completely disrupting our game. He is not a LB or CM and having Rothwell and Aribo covering LB whilst Jack was in CM was madness. Downes and THB looked disinterested and guilty of many mis hit short passes in our half. Saw quite a bit of shoulder shrugging ang bickrring between the players as well. The fans were also pretty much resigned to not putting any effort in, and with having nothing at all to get excited about who could blame them. Finally wtaf was the free kick about in the last few minutes? One last chance, everybody lined up along the edge of the box waiting for a cross to be swung in and we get a short pass sideways and lose possession . Also as mentioned Smallbones corners were pathetic. |

We are playing in the 3rd kit for those who might want to dress accordingly. |

Relatively short journey for me, made harder due train strike Luckily, (?) I can do the whole journey by Bus! Leigh to Bolton, then Bolton to Blackburn .... nearly 2 hours of Bus Whanchory!! Hopefully one or two of the pubs near the Bus Station will have some decent ale. Then more Bus frivolity to Ewood Park. The best bit is having recently hit 66 the whole trip will be £0 |

Can you get somebody from The Echo to take a picture of you angrily waving your season ticket whilst on the phone to the ticket office? |

The absolute state of the rear end of the scabby mangy fox. It looked like a shoal of piranhas, not skates, had been having a go at it. |

Virtually all of my meetings with Uglies have been on matchdays, normally away games, in some northern hell hole, in the ground, on trains or in pubs. So don't really come under Random as such |

not sure where the msg went!! I expect everybody is aware of the proposed rail strikes on 6th April, when we play Blackburn. Northern & Trans Pennine both on strike that day, which just about accounts for most trains into Blackburn I am somewhat fortunate that I can Busw*nk from Leigh to Bolton and Bolton to Blackburn, in about the same time as if I did bus to manc and train to Blackburn. Plenty of buses and even better, having recently hit 66 yrs old its absolutely free! Silver linings and all that |
| Forum Reply | Away ticket Face ID at 19:24 19 Mar 2024
I have a couple of Man U STH's and can confirm they do this, and also have random spot checks at the actual seats! So say for example you are using a family members ST because they are ill, working or on holiday etc and you get spot checked in the ground, you will have to pay for that seat there and then, or get ejected and the STH could lose their ST. Also you don't get 'Grandfather Rights' to a family member ST if they pass away, or want to transfer it to a younger member in the family. This is for home games, but I guess they have similar restrictions on ID checks for away tkts. I also have Newcastle STH friends and they choose a certain amount of tickets to be collected at the away ground and photo ID required. [Post edited 19 Mar 20:32]

WTF does this even mean .... Since joining Russell Martin's side, Rothwell has played 267 minutes in the Championship, a tick under the 381 he played in the Premier League. Has 114 minutes become the new measurement in time for "I'll be with you in a tick" |
