I've not been Bazunu's biggest fan but he made some really good saves last night and bailed out our hapless defenders on a number of corners we were facing in the 2nd half.

He's improved this season imo and his distribution is a factor in our build up play from the back thats often leading to our best attacks.

I'd love to move McCarthy on and bring in some decent competion for him though as we know he'll still cost us points with his dubious shot stopping at times.


Your right about the goal distribution and Armstrong has shown yet again he's a top striker in the Championship after a period where myself included thought the game was up for him at Saints.

I'd still bring in a big tall striker though to give us a plan B and an outlet when we're under pressure and sadly there's no way I'd trust Ross Stewart anymore with his endless injuries and Downs is definitely not a hold up player.

A better CB who can actually win headers would be nice ...we miss Bednarek .

Mad to think we've won 6 out of 7 yet I came away from last night and to a lesser extent the Brum game feeling a bit angry.

Going forward we are potentially the best in the league but unless we get 4 in front or the opponents get a man sent off our atrocious defenders will always allow them a route back into the game.

Although I'd still love us to sign a proper target man in January to give us a plan B.

Yep, or like one of those streaky Ralph runs of great great form when Ings was on fire for us.

Would love to Eckhart sort out the defence though .

We're a top 3 side going forward but a midtable side at the back.

None of the defenders or keepers have been consistently good this season .

Hopefully an improving Downes and Romeu will help them out.

Just checked this out.
They actually played at the Ricoh arena that season and finished 6th.
Lowest home attendance 6k , highest was against Accrington Stanley 28k.

Just checked out their average attendances over recent years.

17/18 season in League 2 they averaged 9k
22/23 Championship. 19k
25/26 Championship . 29k

They rightfully will get the credit along with another brilliant Armstrong first time pass to set us on our way for the 2nd goal.

Would like add Jander to the list of outstanding performers as well....he looks like a top class midfielder to me.

I watched his interview too and yes he was very complimentary about our team.

It was good to give him some stick today though, but personally Im happy to leave it there ...not sure that will happen though when we face them at SMS, now he's got his own little song!

Your right Nick , good luck is a huge part of it including getting results.

The issue is these clowns ruining our club have either had the worst run of bad luck in football history or they are culpable of making consistently bad decisions over and over again.

You mention Jesse Marsch and that could be a good call along with Farke if he gets the sack.
What about Patrick Vieira?

Works with both Spors and Eckhart previously at Genoa I believe?

A workmanlike performance was good enough yesterday.
Fellows was my Saints MOTM.

We allowed Weds too much space and they had a dominant spell that was a worrying when you consider how poor they are.

Loved watching Barry Bannan for them...such an excellent midfielder and great servant to their club.

I thought Bazunu had a decent game yesterday.
He made a couple of decent saves and saved Stephens blushes with a great reaction save.

From the Itchen /Northam wing where I'm sat it looked like he had no chance for their goal as it arrowed into the corner, but watching it back ..maybe he could have done better.

Problem is , similar to Manning and Stephens, lots of fans " decide" they dont like them and they seem to not notice their decent moments but jump all over the odd mistake.
