Steve Cooper has got got to be a good shout. Leicester were not in bottom 3 when they sacked him. Knows the Championship. Took Swansea to two playoffs Inc one final. Took Forest up first time of asking and then kept them up in their first season. Ticks all the boxes for me.
You may well be right , but I don't feel Onuachu has been given the opportunity that was affored Prem duds like Mara and Armstrong. This season Armstrong has had 770 mins of game time and Tall Paul 111....basically 1 game.
Give him a run of matches, if he's done nothing after 6 games fair enough bin him off but what have we got to lose.
This is a repeat of our previous relegation season where Selles didn't play him all the while "trusting the process" as we lost game after game.
Although you are right in that he didn't get in the Liverpool box and be a threat to their goal. The reality was in the first half Liverpool pretty much dominated and we were forced back into the our final third.
It's typical really that we are looking to sell a player we paid 16/18m for likely around 10m.
He's hardly played but when he has he's looked impressive and lifted the home fans and I'm convinced the goals would come if he could get a run of games instead of desperate last 15 min performances where we're looking for miracles.
Whilst we persevere we Armstrong who for all his effort looks way short at this level.
Ever the optimist I hoped this season we'd survive but I remember feeling pretty uneasy listening to pretty season interview with our beloved leader and he kept emphasising the style of football wouldn't change.
Where pragmatism and survival is the name of the game for newly promoted teams, Martin in hindsight was either arrogant or deluded or both to think this style would keep you up.
I suspect he has his own personal agenda of self preservation at the cost of our club.

Martin on the goal: “We played out and got pressed just before that - so then it makes Joe [Lumley] kick it long, and it gets a cheer from our supporters, - and we concede within 10 seconds. So, yeah. It is what it is.” #saintsfc [bbc]
Fair enough Pat, but personally I thought the atmosphere was "ok" certainly not saying it was thunderously loud though. Maybe if we won a few more home games it may inspire a bit more noise .
Our fans song repertoire is pretty lame that's for sure. I really wish we could come up with a few more original songs/chants but as Frannies Tache says not enough people want to join in when they've come up with something new and rather sing the anti pompey guff instead.
I do like the noise and singing of the copied Scouse song as much as it pains me to admit , but it's got a real uplifting vibe about it. At the end of the day we're singing to hopefully to lift our players and I'm sure they couldn't give a monkeys about where the song originated from.
We need more simple catchy songs as I reckon they'll catch on eventually....remember how loud and uplifting the good old...Ole...ole ole ole......Guly...Guly.. Simple and easy to join in.
I agree that the anti Pompey songs are pathetic but from where I'm sat in the middle of the Itchen, the home support is louder and the away fans sound alot quieter .
Particularly when the whole Northam sang the song where they namecheck Mickey Channon, that sounded proper loud and it's a far better than the Onuachu one which us a bit wrap tbh. Surely we can come up with something better and a bit more tuneful than the current dreary one and maybe a line about his tallness rather than the size of his "member"
Have to say though Tall Paul's performance was a definite bright spot along with Dibling and Fernandes.
The majority of the home crowd have taken to him and it really lifted the atmosphere . You could sense almost the audible shock that wow this guy is actually a pretty decent player and although he had no goal attempts in his time on the pitch he can certainly control the ball and beat a player which goes against the many wise old men on here who have been telling us otherwise.
Maybe he won't be a world beater but at the moment anything positive is worth gripping onto imo.
