Perhaps Russell Martin should switch to a cup game mentality every game. Clearly his in game management is pretty poor as it was during his reign in South Wales. Picking a team based on a showing at training is now a luxury SFC can ill afford. How many games have been surrendered due to poor/ill timed substitutions. With 8 games left and 24 points begging we should be targeting 15/18.......We need that momentum to take into the play-offs

For me Martin is no better at in game management than Hasenhutl. Another management "one trick pony" are we Swansea 2.0. A defender redcarded for a yellow card offence made it easy for Ipswich to win because Martin still plays gung ho football. A good manager would have shut up shot at two each....but not us. Taxi for Russell Martin as far as I am concerned. |

I think our run is really down to RM. He needs to decide if he wishes to shoehorn in his favouites or play the best 11. Then make his substitutions both timely and effectiveley. If a player is having a bad first half hook him at 45mins dont wait until 75th when its too late.
I think Russell will be happy with plyoffs and not offend his mates

Agreement with most comments, but would like to just add a discussion point, is the hold up on both Adams and S Armstong contract ANYTHING to do with the question of what division will we be in next season. For us its advantageous to wait for players it could be a chance worth taking. Adams i dont thinlk will get any mega offere from premier league teams. Stuart could walk in to quite a few. Although Im not a football manager Ive often wondered why teams dont try to "win" the game in the first and then at halftime make the changes to rest the players that have done the hard miles in the first half. Thus offering the ability, if in the lead to bloster weaker players. Maybe just changing two or three at halftime also leaves the manager the option of two or three changes if needed later in the game. Goalkeepers should never need resting. And some player thrive on games like JWP

Neither Sulemana or Ryan are 90 minute men. So for me Id use the former in the first half and the latter the second. Id start Charles and give Downes and Smallbone half games each. Id play Bellis harwood and give Bednarek and Holgate half games each. The other positions can be filled by the plethora of usual suspects.

Overall a good reult and a reasonable performance against a Pub Team. However In my opiniom Sulemana and Manning looked tired and lacklustre after 30 minutes. Not much RM can do about Manning but Sulemana should have been swaped for Fraser, who would have bolsteed Manning. Sulemana does NOT defend.But satisfield with 3 points and a clean sheet

One would hope that the Onuachu's, Djenepo's and Lyanco's etc are high on the get away list, and we concentrate on worthwhile replacements. Like most I hope Che stays but thats down to SR convincing players to stay. Sorry to say thats the one unsuccessful thinf that has happened. Overall I think RM is doing a great job making a silk purse.........but not confident of promotion immediately. Could be second time around

As I think Ive stated before we have compensation packages for Selles and Jones plus we are still paying Ralph salary, and although SR wont admit it a large amount of "balancing the books" is eaten up doing this. We are also paying salaries to players who are NEVER going to be in th squad so we almost have to write off that money and ship them out. Even if its a big loss it balance the books. So dont expect any marque signings.
