Yep, if he's happy, I would say retain him here as an important team player. Good, solid, versatile footballer imho. I wouldn't imagine he'd want to play regular League One football with Oxford next season. |

Let's have this right - an away point on a January night in awful conditions for football, a team clearly decimated by injuries throughout the squad (a situation which clearly worsened as the game went on), against a team desperately fighting relegation with a new manager (they would have targeted this game, be in no doubt). Ex-Premier League Southampton and Ipswich both left here with nothing this season. I feel for our fans who paid and went - but that has to be seen as another good merited point on the road which gets us into the 40s (psychological?). We are Rangers - for decades we lose these games 1-0, over and over again. Charity Park Rangers? Not tonight. [Post edited 20 Jan 22:37]

Where I am. We're clearly decimated, they're clearly desperate. Would be certainly happy with another hard-fought 0-0 given the circumstances. |

Get to 52pts as soon as possible. Then see how many games there are left..... |

Good luck to Justin and welcome. To confirm, he can't/won't play any part against Oxford tomorrow (my first question) - see last line of club statement. |

A nice morale boost to see Ronnie on that bench, though. Suspect that this is the point, rather than any serious intent to use him today. |

The 'Terrible' Trio - Conn, Bauld and Wardhaugh - under Tommy Walker. By all accounts, one of the truly great post-war sides. Had a GD of +101 (plus one hundred and one goals) in one season...incredible. Yes, it would be wonderful if Hearts could do it this season. The pessimist in me insists that it remains impossible, given the ludicrous ongoing financial advantage of the Gruesome Twosome. But great for them to hope and dream. Sadly, in these modern footballing times, it might be worth them sacking off the Scottish Cup today in the 'finest' Warnockian style. Tbf that was probably their undoing in the trauma of 1985-86. More than any fixture this season so far, a draw is a win for me today. Given our full-on injury crisis, a point today would be a big prize. Can't see it: 3-1 Stoke. |

Surprised by this - I guess he wants the guarantee of starts every week which wasn't happening at Birmingham. Charlton away (Dykes and Kelman up top) could be fun. [Post edited 15 Jan 16:12]

Yes a lot of today's results (Macclesfield excepted) were a reminder (if needed) of the transformed 21st century football landscape of absurd Prem Lge financial dominance. 5-1 to West Ham I'm afraid. |

I don't want to raise the acronyms PSC and FFP but this excellent news about Ronnie (if/when confirmed) means that we are now comfortably clear of all this financial malarkey going forward? Right? Yes? No nasty news in 2/3 years time? |

This (and I suspect its true if WLS are touting it strongly) is very very very surprising. I always just dismissed this possibility (suggested by many on here tbf) as over-optimistic fantasising, especially given our much-lauded Careful Data-driven Model. So he'll either fail the medical, break his leg at the London Stadium or be sht in the finest Stefan Johansen tradition. Sorry, it's January.... If/when confirmed, welcome home Ronnie - hope you've got good studs... |
