Might as well drop Baz for the remaining pre-playoff friendlies. Can't really see much point in persevering with a 'keeper that concedes so many.
If not then start looking around for a new manager to see what can be done next season in the Championship. If even the director of football has seen the shape of things to come then make the break now.

Good grief! That's a pretty poor grasp at a straw. Moving the away fans to the place where than can have least influence is surely Rule No.1. To place them in front of the TV cameras right behind the goal was always bonkers. Yet another thing that Lowe got wrong.

It really doesn't matter. Saints will be entering the play-off lottery. Great if it ends in a triumph at Wembley but Saints don't have a good record in those life and death games.

It's almost a relief for the hope to be extinguished.

In the first half last night Saints passed the ball neatly and quickly out of defence on a number of occasions which resulted in some good attacking scenarios. If we had attackers who were composed enough to actually turn those opportunities into goals then it might be possible to defend the risk/reward tactics at least some of the time.

As it is last night showed yet again that Saints run out of ideas far too often in the final third and that makes the tippy-tappy passing in defence pretty much all risk and very little reward. At the very least mix it up with some long balls in behind more often.

Automatic promotion is a very long shot now. Saints will now very likely stumble towards the play-offs where more disappointment lies in wait. That's my expectation anyway.

Leeds and Ipswich have found a winning mentality. If anyone seriously thinks that last day game at Elland Rd will mean anything it'll probably only be a question of whether Leeds pip Leicester for top spot. Saints need to start planning for the play-offs and hope they don't meet Hull.

I've had a dream that Saints go there with Leeds needing a win by 5 goals to take 2nd place and are 3-0 up at half time. No idea what happens after that.

That's not the message I was hearing at the start of the season. I seem to remember that the owners wanted promotion and we're falling well short of that currently.

I remember playing in teams with various strip designs back in the 60s. The colours and styles were often close to being the same but not always.
My first Saints game was '63 but can't remember anything other than everyone in the team turning out in the same strip for a game but that's a long time ago when I was a teenager so the memory might be playing tricks.

White sleeves if I remember correctly, Nick. Close but not traditional. I'd happily have that one back for the promotion celebrations in 2024 though.

I'm all in favour of ditching the awful strips we had this season but I think the last time Saints were promoted with traditional stripes was in 1966. Certainly the away strip should be yellow/blue though.
