Us versus THEM
at 21:05 18 Jan 2026

Great post. They are suppsed to represent us and rarely do.

I remember a few years ago on Question Time an audience member picking up the politcians on the panel for saying 5 years in power and said they should be saying 5 years in service.

(A bit like the hiercahy at the WRU at moment. Their inflated salaries and elevated positions make them forge that they are working for the clubs and people invloved in them).

Hillsborough and the PO scandal were despicable and God knows how many other things have gone on.

Champ? Wtf are you on about? I can't stand Tony Blair and Labour certainly aren't my heroes. I've moaned about them, plenty of times not least about the Iraq War. I say it as I see it and don't support a party like a football team no matter what, unlike you. You lot bang on about how shit things are as if it's all happend in the last year. You all voted for the shit show.

Why do you say I'm a lefty liberal? Are you a gammon then? Sorry, I forgot you're a proper citizen, I'd better watch out. My point remains, plenty to say over the last year about how shit the country is but not a peep for the 15 years before when the damage was done.

Go for it. What do you class as a 'proper citizen' ? It's a shame proper citizens like you didn't kick up this fuss over the lat 15 years during which time the country was truly shafted.

The far left have been nowhere near any sort power in the UK for 40 years. I'm not sure it's them we have to worry about ruining our country at the moment.

Two city rugby
at 19:27 10 Dec 2025

It's absolutely disgraceful management by the WRU. Top notch incompetence. They should be looking to increase revenue to properly fund 4 regions and grow the game not manage its decline. Even once they decided to go to 3, the way t's been handled has been atrocious leading to the 2 teams in the west in a civil war and top players leaving. It doesn't look good for the Ospreys although their links to the University, number of clubs in the region and the sheer potential catchment area might save them as Reddin loved his data. Surely you can't leave a region comprising of Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot, Pencoed, Porthcawl, Bridgend, Maesteg etc with no team to follow? It would be a particular kick in the teeth for Ospreys fans having had to swallow one merger of rivals. If they were to go a lot of fans would call it a day on Welsh Rugby, me included.

Multiple people stabbed on train
at 22:33 7 Nov 2025

Fair point Boundy. I agree that extreme ideology is a curse in our society whether that be religious, cultutral or political. Most people just want to live their lives in relative peace and comfort and feel that their hard work is worth something.

The sad thing is that the extremist minority on all sides take up most of the news. We fundamentally all want the same thing but may disagree about how to get there. Working people in this country of all backgrounds and beliefs have more in common with each other than those who look to divide us.

Re: Musk, I think someone who thinks that they are worth 1 trillion is entrenched in an extreme ideology every bit as pervasive and dangerous as any archaic religious ideology. . So much money that the mind can hardly comprehend the figure. If £1 = 1 second, it would take 7 days to count to £1 million, 32 years to count to £1 billion and 32,000 years to count to £1 trillion. Utterly obscene and he has the gall to run down and create division in our country.

We may disagree on a few things but I always value your posts.

I'm late to this thread so I'll respond to Gwyn in the absence of any other responses which sadly tells its own story.

Working class Muslim, but more importantly, British citizen Samir Zitouni is an absolute hero indeed, epitomising the British spirit.

He has more in common with any of us than the world's first trillionaire!! demagogue and Tommy Robinson backer Elon Musk who seeks to divide this country at every opportunity.

Discussions about which houses and titles he will keep whilst still enjoying the trappings of extreme wealth and privilege, certainly being a mile away from any investigation. This is the only two tier justice that exists in the UK. Rich and powerful v the rest of us.

Just what is happening in our schools
at 09:06 10 Oct 2025

Much of the RE curriculum is based around empathy and understanding of other viewpoints, including atheism and humanism. It teaches youngsters to be able to articulate and explain why they may agree or not agree with a particular viewpoint in the right way, without the need for antipathy, aggression or violence. Whether we like it or nor, different viewpoints play a part in the communities in which we live and students are given the facts about these viewpoints, without which they may end up watching some of the more divisive stuff online. It should be about education not indoctrination. I agree though, there should be no schools based on faith which just breeds isolation and division. Most good schools will have kids from all sorts of different backgrounds mixing, being friends, playing together and sharing ideas.

Oh the irony! 😂😂
Where have I said they don't have the right to reply or to exercise their free speech? I'm all for people saying what they want (within the law) and I'm not one of those who pouts about what's been written or said online or anywhere else. I find the backlash to Neville's comments quite funny.

No irony lost on me or anyone else. I think you've misunderstood my point. Like I said in my reply to mangohill, I absolutely agree with everyone's right to say what they want and that indeed is what free speech is about. I'm not suggesting for a minute they don't have a right of reply, they absolutely do. I'm saying I find it humorous that some of the people who talk about 'woke' 'snowflakes ' etc get all exercised when somebody says something they don't agree with.

Both, they are exercising their right to free speech by banging on. No problem with that at all, they are perfectly entitled to. It just makes me laugh when somebody offers a viewpoint different to their's they go mental, calling for Neville to be sacked etc.
