Irish grandad ended up in Cleverly Estate in Shepherds Bush when he came over before the war and as a result his three sons, plus all their kids, and now mine, make up four generations of long-suffering fans. We’re still in the same seats he used to sit in as well. At least the older generation got to see some cup finals, we’re still waiting! I had a stab at supporting West Ham for a year or so after they won the FA Cup in 1980 but soon got it beaten out of me. |

I like the sound of this signing. A more proven Alfie Lloyd by the sound of things who’s done his time at Lincoln and Grimsby and another local lad My Cov mate thought he’d play for them eventually but they’re all getting ideas above their station up there now about how “we’re a Prem team so we don’t need him anymore” |

Awful game, we spent the whole 90 minutes giving it away, but I kind of like the fact we can shithouse a 0-0 away at Stoke with most of our best players injured. Progress of a sort Not much fun to watch mind you |

Without Burrell we look a very easy team to defend against. Not sure what Stephan can do here really, this is about the only team he can put out and there's nobody on the bench to change a game. I'd take 0-0 now. |

Ironically I realised I had a mushroom chocolate bar in my bag as we were going through the many searches. Wasn’t quite the occasion for it mind you, but pleased that all the dogs and minimum wage lads didn’t spot it. Mushrooms at the right time and in moderation are superb anti-depressants IMO, something a lot of people need, and they grow in Richmond Park every year. Great post Tony, like a lot of people on here I suppose, I’ve partaken and been around coke over the years but glad it never took hold on me. [Post edited 14 Jan 22:16]

Spot on as always - we pretty much gave as much as that squad could and on another day would have kept the first half 0-0 and watched the fans turn on them. Can’t doubt the spirit in that team, unfortunately it looks like the hamstrings and ligaments aren’t keeping up My nine year old’s first away game and was a good one for him, loads of other kids there, wasn’t moody, he got to see the dystopian new east London megatropolis, we got a goal for him to cheer and he got to see a big ground where, as he said “we were much louder than them weren’t we?” Once we actually got in the ground I thought it was alright but my god the fkin faff to get in and out was Ryanair level. Left Sadlers Wells bar at 1.50 right outside the entrance and missed the kick off by 10 minutes (50 minutes later) to get patted down in the most perfunctory way by no less than three security checks. Why? Fk that [Post edited 12 Jan 23:42]

Anyone know what parking’s like round there? Can you just park in Westfield? All the trains from near me look like they’ve got issues next Sunday and can’t face hours of titting about afterwards if we lose |

In honour of Barry Bannan who may well be exhibiting his last ever masterclass at Loftus Road tomorrow before his legs and/or hair gives up, what other players did you always look at with a sly fondness? I always liked Mick Harford in his pomp, gave Alan McDonald some of his toughest tests. Would have loved him playing for us. Ryan Woods the ginger centre midfielder at Brentford when they were getting good was another one [Post edited 4 Jan 1:32]

It is a good point though - they are hardly any ex QPR players doing well or holding down a decent career Eze doing well. That’s about it A few exes knocking around the same level (Manning, BOS, Dykes, Armstrong, Robinson, Lowe) It’s a metric that needs work [Post edited 31 Dec 2025 3:15]

West Brom were shite in the home game, we’re due a performance after Portsmouth, who knows in this crazy season I have not got a single result right in the prediction league so I’m going with a disappointing defeat to protect my record |

Well I'd have taken that beforehand, and definitely taken that at half-time. Good to see we're not rolling over even when we're crap. Not a game that will live long in the memory... |

Well that was a load of shite. Our retention of the ball has been woeful Fair play to Portsmouth they’re playing well, showing Leicester what it means to fight for every ball. Dozzell is playing like Pirlo |

Still remember that game - we were on a terrible run and looking doomed but those signings turned the corner for us and ushered in a great few years |
