Happy with the point.
Chances in the second half with Burrell and Poku going close
We kept them at arms length for most of the match
Kamara played well second half
I hope Varane ok - he took a nasty knock in the final few seconds
Support from our fans was top notch as per usual too. Well Done.

Solid first half from us.
The own goal was a bit fortunate, but it came from some really good approach play from Vale, Poku and Burrell. That’s the sort of movement we need more of.
Frustrating to concede a couple of minutes later. Quality finish from them, no argument, but we have to get out to the man earlier and block those efforts. Can’t afford to give them that much time and space.
Smyth looks to have picked up an injury, which is a blow with the list already looking thin.
The travelling support have been loud and proud as always.

Well done QPR fans so far this season. The support remains immense.
Please keep making that difference — it helps the lads at home and away.
I can even hear you from Australia. Loud and Proud.
I’ve always thought our fans are the best over the past 50 years. From afar over the past few years you’ve been outstanding and you helped keep us up under Martí.

The Martí years were hard and that’s where the crowd’s backing mattered most — he inherited a side near the bottom and we stayed up, then finished 15th the following season. That backing from the stands was a big part of it. You did it then and can do it again — suck the ball in the net please and get Kolli back in the team not in the stand.
If we can convert well this season we will be near the top (unless the whole team gets injured — 9 out of 26 already, thanks Ben).

With some of the team selections and the timing of the subs, do you reckon he’s being steered by the bloke with the laptop next to him on the bench? Minutes, load, “this one has to come off” type stuff.
Is that Ben Williams, or one of the analysts? |

Really impressed with Julien this season. Win, lose or draw he’s calm and rational after the game and usually describes it the same way we all saw it. He’s holding the players more to account too. You can already see him getting as frustrated as the rest of us with the injuries starting to pile up. |

Thanks Clive, another excellent report.
Read something on here the last couple of days asking why we don’t just go to four 20 team leagues underneath the Premier League.
That would drop clubs from playing 46 league games down to 38. In theory it should raise the standard a bit and cut down on the injury list for a lot of teams. Probably wouldn’t make much difference to us given how we usually manage the squad, but the principle still makes sense.
Curious what others think. Is it just the usual more clubs = more money argument that stops it happening, or is there something else I’m missing? |

Hi all,
Started the season well, but we should be 4 or 5 points better off given the chances we have created. I have prepared some questions for Wednesday’s fans’ forum:
1. For Christian / Julien - Rayan Kolli has not been in a matchday squad this season despite a strong goals from limited minutes record. With the window closed and several forwards injured, is he available for selection — and if so, what is the reason he is being kept out of the squad?
If Kolli is not in Julien’s plans, why is a homegrown forward still here unused while we cannot convert chances?
2. For Christian - Against Middlesbrough we lost Chair and Kone in the first half; at Charlton we lost Lamptey before half time and Dunne just after. Kemper, Dembele and now Saito are also out. What is driving this injury rate, and what has changed in the medical, fitness and recovery work so we do not lose another season to injuries?
3. For Julien - After six games we have the most shots in the league but only the 20th best conversion rate. At Charlton we had 12 corners and never looked like scoring. What is the plan in open play and on set pieces to turn control into goals?
4. For Jimmy - From inside the group, what is different this season in standards — and how do you keep that when key players keep going off injured?
5. For Christian - What is the actual plan for Loftus Road over the next five years?
6. For Christian - The new pre match track was booed against Cardiff and then dropped. How will the club consult the fanbase before changing walk on music, anthems or other matchday traditions again — and will that include a proper say, not just a decision after the event?

Disappointing result however we have only won at Charlton once in 40 years so not a happy hunting ground.
We had most of the ball but are struggling to turn this into clear chances and goals.
Smyth had a one on one in the second half but it was saved.
Kamara played an excellent game.

Controlled the first half but we need better penetration.
Vale was close twice and Burrell had a good effort as well. Campbell’s goal for Charlton looked just offside to me when it was disallowed.
A few players have been quiet. Smyth in particular — most of our attacks have gone down the right and he’s on the left. Lloyd has been quiet too and Madsen hasn’t really been influential yet.
Kamara, Dunne and Edwards have played well. Vale needs to improve his crossing.
Hope Lamptey isn’t seriously injured.
Now we’re attacking the QPR end, let’s lift in the second half and get some goals.

Thread | Premier League - How do we do it?

Best start we’ve had since we last went up, but one home defeat and people are already twitching.
3rd after five games with the new 3rd–8th play-offs is actually a decent spot.
Stéphan keeps saying we have to kill games. We didn’t against Boro and we nearly didn’t against Cardiff. That’s the bit that still looks Championship.
We’ve finished 15th two seasons running. A good September doesn’t wipe that out.
January will tell us more than September. If we don’t add a proper goal threat then, this is just another decent start.
New play-off format helps us more than it helps the usual mid-table clubs — as long as we don’t fall to 9th. |
