a great post and that distinction between constructive & negative criticism is crucial - clearly a distinction several fans near me don't make, as they expressed audible frustration on Saturday after us scoring 2 & hitting the woodwork 4 times!! McNulty and Gordon in their recent interviews make the point - whatever you think of the tactics, selection, formation or style, keep it to yourself and just loudly support the team .... I think last night we (the fans) played a major part in the win at the death. In small grounds like ours the players can hear negativity and often it breeds uncertainty and defeat! Thing is the world does change and you can't pick the bits of progress you like (non rusting cars/ hip ops etc) and not have the bits you don't (tippy tappy football). As they say - nostalgia ain't what is used to be [Post edited 28 Jan 14:57]

true, but don't forget the 0-4 to York where he was at fault for at least 2 of their goals - I don't agree with CumbriaDale that it was York's superior midfield. |

Agree about Pritchard (and Moss had done his defensive role well before) - not about Allarakhia - thought he overplayed and lost the ball more than once. Gilmour was immense, Gordon & Perry very good, Burger effective - Dieseruvwe less so. [Post edited 27 Jan 22:31]

Serves them right - wasted time throughout & only tried to play after they'd gone behind. Referee poor - Dallas made 4 fouls & a simulation in first half and no booking. |

I felt that was as much because Pritchard played too wide filling the LWB space, leaving their attacker free and not offering an out ball for our defenders in the way Rodney does |

Highlights seem to confirm that - especially the Waller save. Can't see if Hendo's onside for his goal but great execution. Also looks like the retaken pen should have been retaken a 2nd time - keeper's definitely off his line again. But the Gilmore goal gets better each time I watch - Rickie Lambert would have been proud. |

Excellent post - the whole Club operation is so much more professional. I think the director's comment was that the cause was probably a mixture of poor construction, materials and maintenance. It was also salutary to hear (if I heard correctly) that whilst the current substrata work might last 20-25 years, the top surface would have needed relaying in 5 years but further work this Summer to relay the turf would extend that by 10 years? |

Thought we were sloppy for much of the game with more misplaced passes than before this season; in addition to the wind the pitch seemed to be very bobbly and the ball often held up so our passes were often being pinged too firmly. Again the 2 in midfield were overrun so we often went long to little effect and no changes made till the last 20 mins. On the other hand I thought Berkoe had his most effective game going forward and making several crosses and it was important to get the 3 points in however ugly a fashion. Credit to Aldershot who pressed high (with their midfield advantage) and played some neat passing football. |

Agreed we're playing very well but we all know getting out of this league is so difficult that we don't want to waste any % point of improving our chances of automatic promotion. According to my calculations, of the 10 goals we've conceded in league and FA Cup games this season 4 have been from 2nd balls after we've failed to clear crosses - so maybe it is worth a further look? |

Just watched highlights and he's not wrong about their chances - it could have finished 4-6; more significantly, we seemed to lose our shape and be vulnerable to 2nd crosses from corners? |

Good bounce back after consecutive home defeats but Mani's yellow card was so predictable - oppositions have sussed out he's a card in the waiting . We lost our way after the card for 20 mins (as McNulty acknowledged post match) and gave away the ball several times. Yeovil had 2 good chances from those mistakes (and hit the bar 2nd half) - better sides will punish us. |

I don't think so - Murray simply reported that but for the received proxies the meeting would have been inquorate and thus closed. |

Murray Knight also reported that the award of a Golden Share to the Supporters Trust is still in train and awaits edits to the Club's Articles of Association. With regard to being quorate it was reported that 18 members were present but that received proxies exceeded the Quorum. |

I think Bob Morrisey has been Interim Chair in 2024/5. Murray Knight reported at today's AGM that the post of Chair is elected by the Board from amongst its number and following the AGM election of the new Board that election would be held. [Post edited 18 Oct 2025 12:15]

Seem to recall his tendency towards a 'show pony' personality & pulling out of tackles led to fans criticism. But like our Tarryn, occasionally he's brilliant. [Post edited 12 Oct 2025 10:13]
