Is Greed In A Crisis Finally Turning The Fans Away
at 08:55:43

I have had a season ticket at Southampton FC for years. I am also an avid Poole Town FC supporter and bought a season ticket for £ 130 for 20 home games. This equates to £6.50 a game. IF Saints sell Ings to Spurs, I intend to send my season ticket back to the club and demand my money back. What Spurs are doing may not be illegal but it is immoral.

Saints V Brentford The Verdict
at 09:14:36

You state we have had the same issues for 4 years....and you are right. I was at the fans forum when Ralph had just arrived. I asked him about our defensive issues then. We are now 18 months on. We only have a few weeks left and the transfer window will be shut. There are so many issues to address....issues which should have been sorted a long time ago. Brentford's first goal summed up everything for me. For a long time we had very little quality but plenty of quantity. With this wafer thin squad the quantity has now also gone. I am not holding my breath on seeing any more players coming in....this is going to be a long, long season.

Saints At Crystal Palace The Verdict
at 10:57:27

Our defense is as you were...yes, we have bought another one but he won't be able to start until somewhere in October? We sold Hojberg because he wanted bigger and better things. Reed and Lemina have gone so we are no stuck with a lightweight midfield bereft of pace. I think our starting 11 is good enough to stay out of trouble....but, Armstrong missing was a decent indication that we have no depth in our squad at all. You get the impression Smallbone is now the solution according to our powers to be? Should Ings lose form or get injured, where are the goals coming from?
Injuries, suspensions and an transfer policy which has baffled at times could well be punished this time round. Yes, we managed to turn round a few dreadful results but the bottom line is we are still blessed with a flaky defense and a mentality which, for some unfathomable reason, just does not get us out the starting blocks until we are chasing the game. Ralph has managed to turn water into wine at times but, for all his brilliance, our collective luck will run out. The Spurs game is now huge already because Burnley away afterwards is not a happy hunting ground.

Now Tottenham Want Ward Prowse !
at 12:27:48

We all know JWP signed a 5 year contract....but so did van Dijk. Spurs are supposed to be broke....yet the borrowed a lot of money, at very cheap rates, which was meant to help businesses hit by Corona virus.
Should Spurs offer stupid money....should JWP want to go.....can we stop it?
My big fear is the domino effect....Ings....Ralph.....
We developed this arrogant belief we could continue selling our best players and still compete...
The board would do well to nip these rumours in the bud and issue a short...NO

Non League Football Clubs Need Your Help By Signing A Petition
at 09:31:50

I have a season ticket at Southampton but I also watch Poole Town FC when Saints are not playing or north of Birmingham. The average attendance is around 450 which makes social distancing more than feasible. The chances of seeing Saints at home this side of xmas are remote. Although I fully advocate letting spectators back in at Poole, and every other non league club, there is a danger the attendances will soar because regulars at, especially Prem games, will be looking for a live footie fix. Non league clubs will have to find a way to give preferential treatment to non league regulars in order to make it fair.

On a brighter note, perhaps people who attend a non league game for the first time will experience a far more relaxed, friendlier and far less cynical afternoon. They will be surprised at the affordable prices of tea, coffee and their pint. They will see players on a pittance compared to the prima donnas they normally see slugging their guts out for a game they enjoy....and who knows, look at Charlie Austin....make their way in the professional game. And there will be no VAR which must be a big plus.

We see Bournemouth beach rammed every sunny weekend yet non league teams are left to rot. it is a good job we are not fighting a war.....

Spurs Daylight Robbery Offer About To Be Accepted
at 07:19:47

We should have let him go last Christmas. During the forum last August last August it was quite clear he did not want to be there. Can we blame the board? Unfortunately, look at the saga down the road with Ryan Fraser. You could argue his refusal to play got Bournemouth relegated. With very few exceptions, especially the foreign players, are mercenaries. Also, why should the likes of Hojberg have any allegiance to Saints? The whole thing stinks......and it has not done Hojberg any favours. Welcome to the modern game................

Ralph Hasenhuttl A Tale Of Two City's
at 10:34:01

There is no doubting Ralph has done a remarkable job. After the dreadful home defeat in October, we looked dead and buried. I don't buy into the theory about our board being farsighted and staying fully behind Ralph after that night. It is my firm belief they had no choice.....to have sacked him then and look for a 5th manager after Koeman was hounded out, would have looked stupid and desperate. Also, was there a manager out there capable of coming in and sorting this mess out? I don't think so.

My big fear is Spurs. Jose and Spurs are a bad fit.... To me it is only a question of time before Levy tires of him and boots him out. Ralph would be a perfect replacement....new contract or not. I am not naive enough to think Ralph will stay at Saints forever, but I do hope the board are more accommodating to Ralph than they were with Koeman. He looks happy enough, but......how many players and managers decided the grass is greener elsewhere and departed over the years?

Ralph Has To Try Something Different
at 08:23:07

RH has just signed a long term contract. He must have been given some assurances and promises concerning the transfer budget. RH knows what has to be done...
If we fail to address our defensive long standing problems, we can only assume the club are only interested in contouring their suicidal policy of finishing 4th or higher from bottom.

Saints V Arsenal The Verdict
at 12:32:07

The defensive frailties have been criminally ignored for over 3 seasons. Somehow, good fortune and other teams having an even bigger death wish than us, have kept us afloat. This luck, and RH, cannot keep baking us out. This coming summer is now huge and will define our fortunes for years to come.

Saints Getting back To Basics In The Transfer Market.
at 13:03:22

"The Southampton way" is a good idea in theory but it has to be successful every season. We seem to have the same approach regarding managers. Yes, we cannot compete with moneybags, vulture top 6 clubs. Clubs who can throw silly money about. clubs, some of whom tried to use the furlough scheme to pay their staff, but are still linked with £ 50 - 60 - 70 M players. As supporters, we have had to put up with "The Southampton way" and, to be fair, to some extent we have no choice. But, the scale of our selling and the arrogant way the club seems to think they have re-invented the wheel, is astonishing. We were lucky with Koeman and we managed to survive because of HIS input. Luck will run out.....it always does. Let us hope the club give Ralph a fair bit of autonomy.... The managers since Koeman were nothing but figureheads while certain individuals thought they knew best. Should Raplh be messed about......god help us.

Wanyama Claims Saints Players Would Not Pass To Sadio Mane
at 12:23:34

Not quite sure why Wanyama feels the need to put the boot in. He is one of many players who forced a move away by "dubious" behaviour? I seem to remember Wanyama being sent off 3 times in 11 games in his last season at Southampton. Hardly an asset to the team. I am sure the vast majority of Saints fan will read it and digest it for what it is worth.

Saints Still Need One More Win
at 10:23:12

Again, we are depending on 3 worse teams. As the article states, Ralph must be getting close to a meltdown. My big concern is the summer and to what extent the board/ owner is going to back the manager. Ralph has managed to steer a bang average side, which at times cannot be motivated, to a relative safe position. In Ralph, we have a gem who will not be at Saints forever...but surely, the club would be mad not backing the manager this summer. If he were to walk...can we honestly blame him?

Saints V Newcastle United The Verdict
at 13:11:48

The club have played Russian roulette over the past couple of season by not sorting the defence out. A mixture of luck and Ralph have averted the financial disaster which is relegation. A succession of managers have been tearing their hair out. Our players are far from blameless. If our lot are not up for it and we lose, you really start fearing. Luck will run out.

Saints At West Ham United The Verdict

Our lack of physicality and height will always be exploited by opponents. Ralph and previous managers can coach all they like but...concentration and bravery and things you either have or you don't. Looks like we are heading for a nervy end of the season.

Saints V Aston Villa The Verdict
at 11:06:06

Driving home from a certain Friday night game in October, like most I feared the worst. The transformation has been quite incredible. Credit must go to Ralph and the players. But...the hard work starts now! The club must start elevating it's ambitions and aim for comfortable mid table finishes and cup runs. If it continues to flirt with relegation again next season...it will happen!

Saints Indicate Intentions For Next Season
at 12:37:47

The relationship between fans and club face make or break over the summer. Arrogance and incompetence by now departed individuals who thought they had reinvented the wheel has seen us teetering on the brink since Koeman was hounded out. We have been very lucky there were club with a bigger death wish than ours over the last couple of seasons. We all know what needs doing and Ralph must be fully supported by the club. Failure to do so will send a clear message to the fanbase and god forbid Ralph walking out would spell disaster. We have been very lucky to have survived since Koeman departed but luck always runs out. Mr Gao must now show where he intends going with the club in the summer. One thing is certain should we just plod on in the same vein disaster will befall us. It is up to the powers to be at SFC. And for those who think a season in the Championship might do us good...think again

Saints Transfer Window ! Good Or Bad
at 08:07:28

I sincerely hope the transfer guru at the club sit down now and start planning seriously for the next window. We have got to get away from this hovering just above the trap door. If they don't, that very door will open. I also think we could do with at least 3 more wins.

Saints Look To Famous Liverpool Thoroughfare For Win At Anfield
at 09:41:38

A win at Anfield seems unlikely....but, but..they have got to lose at one stage. It would be bittersweet if it were Southampton FC who ends the long unbeaten run. Looking at the arrogant and, frankly disgraceful way they managed to prize away some of our players, it would be karma to say the least. But....they may also give us a good hiding... One thing is assured....this Scummer has no time for Liverpool FC and the antics of their supposedly god like manager. PLEASE let it be us to shut them up!
