Lallana Out For Another 5 Games At Least Wednesday, 9th Jan 2013 09:56
The Daily Echo is reporting that Adam Lallana could be out for another month at least.
The Daily Echo has given a fairly comprehensive report on the injury status of Adam Lallana, stating that he does have knee ligament damage, they also report that after a month of rest and treatment he returned to light training this week and that although he could complete simple manoevres like running in a straight line, any twising and turning brought discomfort.
Its therefore a case of more rest and treatment with it being likely that it will be another month before he is able to return to action, whether he will be match fit at that time is another matter, in the next month Saints will play five games culminating in the home match with Man City, that would mean that Lallana will have been missing from the first team for two months by then with the only good thing being that as it stands after the City game Saints have a two week break before they travel to Newcastle, meaning that effectively it could be as long as six weeks before Adam is ready to return to action, if he is not ready for the Toon game it will mean that he will have missed almost exactly three months of action assuming that he is fit to play QPR at the start of March.
ts a fairly comprehensive report from the newspaper suggesting that the information is coming from a source very close to the Club.

Cup games aside Lallana has not been missed. Guly, De Ridder Ramirez provide adequate cover. The Echo are about as close to the Club as I am!?! By far the bigger miss will be Fonte! When's the Echo gonna make something up about him LOL!

I assume slynch is trying to wind everybody up, in which case he's at least partially succeeded. Lallana's injury is as big a blow as we could have had. I'd take him playing in every game for the rest of the season over any new signing. Watching us attack without him is hard work and after the early season hammerings he hasn't been given credit for the defensive work he's since put in. At some stage I'm expecting a comparison of points gained when Adam and Ramirez have both started versus points gained when either has been missing. I suspect that might tell the story of our season, and fear their injuries will be our undoing.

He's definitely been a loss to the side but to stmichael's point, we did beat reading (the game he went off) - when gaston looked decent on the left. We've also had earned good points against stoke and arsenal so I think on the whole, we've coped ok. To me, gaston as a replacement on the left and then j-rod and rickie up front is the way to go.

I think Saints got 0.8 points per game with Lallana and 1.2 ponts per game without him.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Southampton Polls |
