Matthew Phillips introduces us to the man in the middle for the Burnley game

Saturday’s referee is Andy Hall from the West Midlands; he became a football league referee in 1997. He averaged just over 3 yellows per game and sent off 12 players last season, he averages just over 3 yellows this season and has yet to issue a red card – he booked 10 players in last week’s game between Tranmere vs Oldham!!

The last game he took charge of was against Oldham on the opening day of last season, he gave a penalty after a minute, but we have only lost 3 times out of 13 with Andy Hall in charge, he can be a very fussy referee at times and doesn’t let the game flow.

 Stats far 2008-09 season:

5 Games,

17 Yellows,

0 Reds.
