Torquay Prices Set

Do turkey's vote for Xmas, do Saints fans vote for higher ticket prices ?

The answer seems to be yes judging byt the pices just released for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round game against Torquay United to be played on Tuesday 6th October.

Initially the Club had, when asking for supporter thoughts, intimated that an adult price of £5 was in their minds, however with the ticket prices now released, its higher than that, so have Saints supporters demanded the club charge them more ?

However the Club do seem to have made a concerted effort to look after season ticket holders as well as encourage kids to the game.

Season ticketholders will be able to buy tickets at £7.50 with concessions for seniors and 17-21 yrs old at £3

Non season ticket holders will pay £10 with the concessions at £5

All these prices are oncondition that tickets are purchased before the day of the match, on matchday season ticket holders will still be ableto get their rate, however those without will have to fork out a whopping £15

But perhaps the biggest part of the pricing structure is that kids under 16 get in free if they pay in advance although on the day it will still only cost them £2

Another new innovation is the kick off time, with very few Torquay supporters expected, it has been proposed the game will kick off at 7pm, this will encourage a bigger take up from kids, meaning the game will be finished before 9pm as it is a school night.

All in all I would give the club 7/10 for this, it has many good points, although I think adult tickets are slightly overpriced, £5 for seasonticket holders and £7.50 for non, would have been a better attraction, also whilst I can see that Saints are trying to encourage fans to buy tickets in advance, I think they haveto realise that a lot of people will prefer to wait until the day to make a decision on going with this sort of game, and that £15 will deter a fair few.
