Roy Keane believes that the Swans will present his side with a tougher test than West Brom did in midweek

Keane saw his side beat premier League West Brom in midweek to progress to the Carling Cup semi finals but believes that Brendan Rodgers' side will present them with a tougher test in front of the Sky TV cameras this afternoon.

Having been linked with trying to take Rodgers to Portman Road in the summer, Keane also says that he is not surprised at Swansea's league position ahead of the clash.

“Brendan’s name was mentioned when I was looking for a No 2 in the summer, but I didn’t speak to him, and after his experience at Chelsea he has what it takes to be a manager in his own right." he told the Western Mail

“Swansea have built well in recent years and it’s no surprise to me that they are high in the table.

“Brendan has players who know the system and put into practice what is taught on the training ground.

“And enjoying a good Carling Cup victory does not take the pressure off us playing Swansea.

“When you look at the whole package, Swansea will present us with a tougher task than West Brom did..

“We want to make sure we don’t slide further down the table, and they have more possession than any other team in the Championship. And when you have the ball so much you are not going to concede goals.

“They haven’t had a game this week and will be fresh and in their two wide players and Craig Beattie they have forward-thinking guys who know what it is all about.

“Like West Brom, they play nice football, but, whereas a top division side might allow you time on the ball because they would not expect you to hurt them, teams in the Championship will not.”
