Cook - I want to stay at QPR

Winger Lee Cook has said he is happy to stay at Rangers, but the decision about where he plays his football next season may come down to the club if a suitable offer is received. Meanwhile manager John Gregory has been discussing his summer transfer activity plans.

The QPR Player of the Year has revealed that he hopes to stay with the team he has supported as a boy and to fulfil the second part of his dream by playing for Rangers in the Premiership.

Cookie wants to help Rangers live up to their potential under the guidance of John Gregory, but is also realistic enough to admit that the decision will not entirely be his.

Lee told the Official QPR Website; "I'm happy here - I want to stay at QPR. I didn't sign an improved contract last summer just to go and leave one year on.

Money talks and if the Club accept a bid for me then it's out of my hands. But I've lived part one of the dream of playing for the Club I supported as a boy and the next step is to play for the R's in the Premiership."

Meanwhile, gaffer John Gregory has also spoken about his summer transfer plans and as said that nothing may happen until the current squad is back in pre season. But he also said that it won't be easy with the Club not having an 'open' chequebook.

JG told the Official QPR Website;

"It's not going to be easy - we don't have an open chequebook, but I'm quite confident we can improve the playing squad.

I've lost, or rather let go, 17 players and although I'm still left with 21, that includes players like Tommy Doherty, Zesh Rehman, Nicky Ward and Sean Thomas who were all out on loan last season.

There are also probably three of four more within the squad who are unlikely to feature next season, but they're under contract with us, so we will be looking into the possibility of putting them out on loan.

We can't look at Michael Mancienne and Jimmy Smith at this stage, because the ball is very much in Chelsea's court."

Gregory has also highlighted the need to strengthen the goalkeeping position with Jake Cole being the only senior keeper at the Club. But I think we all know who is main target will be...
