There is still a long way to go before the final reckoning, but lets see who is in the front running so far with our poll.

There are quite a few candidates for our player of the year so far.

The back four could lay claim to any one of them getting the nod from our supporters, Ryan Bertrand and Nathaniel Clyne have been outstanding at full back and not only strong defensively but brilliant on the counter attack, both contributing some vital goals and assists.

In the centre Jose Fonte has had a good season and stepped up to the playe and Toby Alderweireld has just looked sheer class.

In midfield at one stage it looked like Dusan Tadic might walk it by a country mile, however he has dropped off in recent weeks although Im sure he will be back to form very soon.

Morgan Schneiderlin has again been outstanding as has Wanyama who seems to have added an extra dimension to his game recently.

One surprise candidate is Steven Davis, very much in the mould of unsung hero he has often been the glue that binds the midfield together and when he is not there it shows.

Up front Graziano Pelle has proved a worthy successor to Rickie Lambert and weighed in with not only a good haul of goals scored in all manners but the way he links up play is superb.
