Loan Deal For Arsenal Defender?
Saturday, 20th Jun 2015 16:40 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Arsenal look set to extend the contract of rumoured Swans target Carl Jenkinson before they let him go out on loan again for the season to another Premier League club.

The Swans were linked with a move for Jenkinson last week but we are not alone with the links with Sunderland, West Ham and Southampton are also linked with the player who spent last term on loan at Upton Park.

There were reports last week that Sunderland had agreed a loan deal with the Gunners for the services of the 23 year old defender but it is also reported that Jenkinson would rather stay in London which puts the Hammers at the front end of any queue for his signature.

West Ham Chairman David Gold has already indicated that he wants to keep the player at Upton Park for one more season after he made 36 appearances for them last term.

It is difficult to see the Swans following through an interest in a loan move especially if Arsenal want first team football for their player. With the form of Kyle Naughton before his injury and the cover provided by Angel Rangel then he would be competing for a place here and therefore there seems little mileage in a loan move happening.

Think we can probably file this in the 'very unlikely' category
