Pompey pegged back twice at Salisbury Tuesday, 19th Jul 2016 22:10 by pompey-fans.com staff If you judge a pre-season by results alone, Pompey's has not been without its setbacks. But very few people do view in in this way, so a 2-2 draw at Salisbury is probably no more something to be worried about than a 5-0 win at the Hawks is something to get excited about. At the end of a first half which Pompey had the best of, Noel Hunt staked a further claim for a big place in Paul Cook's plans for the season by putting them after taking an Enda Stevens pass ibn his stride and firing past home keeper Lee Angel. But former Gosport striker Justin Bennett headed in a corner a minute later and it was 1-1 at the break. Cook's men regained the lead in the second when the lively Milan Lalkovic teed up Roberts, whose shot squeezed in for 2-1. Again, though, Pompey couldn't hold on and Eddie Perrett converted, this goal also following a corner. It was another useful workout for Pompey but their fans present will be hoping the team can get their set-piece weaknesses out of their system before the real action begins. Pompey: Konopka; Talbot, Whatmough, Burgess, Stevens; Rose, Doyle (c); Baker, Roberts, Lalkovic (Bennett 62); Hunt (Smith 46). Subs not used: Bass, Barton, Haunstrup, Close, May, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Linganzi, Tollitt, Chaplin
