More Rail Chaos For The Watford Game Wednesday, 7th Nov 2018 12:54 There is going to be more chaos for those Saints fans who are travelling to St Mary's for the game against Watford on Saturday with lines shut in the Winchester/Eastleigh area, find out more here. All lines in the Winchester and Eastleigh area will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday for repair and maintenance work. Saturday service An hourly service will run between London Waterloo and Weymouth. These trains will be diverted between Woking and Southampton Central, calling at Guildford, Havant and Fareham. An hourly service will run between Southampton Central and Weymouth. This train will make extra stops to cover the Poole stopping service. Services between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Eastleigh, also the stopping service to Poole, will only run between London Waterloo and Basingstoke. Bus services connecting with the above train services will run between Basingstoke and Southampton Central, also between Basingstoke and Fareham. Connecting trains will run between Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour. Train services will run between Salisbury and Southampton Central via Redbridge. Bus services will run between Southampton Central and Romsey via Eastleigh. Certain Cross Country Services from the North will terminate at Basingstoke and be replaced by buses to Southampton Central whilst others will divert via Andover/Salisbury to Southampton. In simple terms if you are coming down from London/Basingstoke by train add around 30 minutes to your usual journey time.
