Vote Now For James Ward Prowse As Premier League Player Of The Season
Friday, 13th May 2022 12:10

Saints captain and free kick maestro James Ward Prowse has been nominated for the Premier League player of the season and part of the deciding process will be the votes of the fans, find out here how you can vote.

James Ward Prowse is one of eight nominees for the award and will be competing with

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah (both Liverpool)
Joao Cancelo, Kevin De Bruyne (both Man City)
Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
Jarrod Bowen (West Ham)
Son Heung-min (Tottenham).

Obviously with JWP being the only nominee outside of the clubs in the top 7 and all from clubs with a far larger supporter base than Saints, he will be at a disadvantage to start with, however the award will not just be decided by fans votes, but also by the votes of the 20 Premier League club captains and also a panel of football experts.

Given the sycophantic musings we get from so called football experts when they extol the virtues of the men from the bigger clubs I'm not holding out much hope here, you know the ones, they refer to players they are commentating on by their first names all the time.

Hopefully this will give James Ward Prowse a 1-0 lead after the first round as he is the only nominee who is captain of his club, so he can vote for himself, after that it will get tougher as the larger supporter bases rack up votes for their men.

But with Liverpool and Manchester City having two candidates apiece it will split the vote with their fans and although Arsenal, Spurs & West Ham have more fans than us, they are also hated by most of the other teams in the Premier League, so Prowsey could get a big percentage of the supporter vote by just not being a player from one of the other 5 clubs in the vote.

So firstly it is vital that all Saints fans vote, secondly that they share this story on their social media so that other Saints supporters get the message and both vote and share and thirdly share it with the fans of other teams you know, that neutral vote could be vital.

Anyway here is the link for the voting, get sharing
