A new name has come into the Saints rumour mill, that of Joshua Zirkzee of Bayern Munich, however we are not the favourites to sign the Dutchman.

Before Saints fans get too excited, we are not the rumoured favourites to sign the 21 year old centre forward, we are merely being linked to be looking to hijack the deal from under the noses of Fulham.

Zirksee who is said to be valued at around £10 million spent last season on Loan at Anderlecht in the Belgium league and before that had half a season at Parma in Serie A. that was ended almost as soon as it began with a ligament injury.

Last season with Anderlecht though was a success, he played 32 games, scored 15 goals and had 8 assists in the Jupiler Pro league.

His chances at Bayern Munich are limited and he now looks likely to leave on a permanent basis.

Fulham, Saints & Bournemouth are said to be interested although reports suggest he favours the London club.

underweststand added 13:10 - Aug 4 a tall young striker who has proven he can score goals and is within our price range.. if his only alternative is Fulham ...where's the problem?. Send up a limo, and show him around Staplewood and get him signed up.

Block8 added 19:56 - Aug 4 London will always be a big draw to guys from overseas, it even affects signings for the bigger clubs, However we need a striker and as it seems to be more than a rumour that Che is on his way, we may need two!
