Southampton On Verge Of Managerial Appointment
Friday, 5th Dec 2025 08:31

Saints could announce the appointment of a new manager as early as 9am Friday morning, although reports suggest that there are a few things to iron out before the announcement is made, will the press conference this morning be that announcement or just the normal pre match briefing.

According to The Daily Echo Saints are on the verge of appointing Tonda Eckert on a permanent basis and that announcement could be as early as 9am this morning.

Alfie House the paper's Saints correspondent, has been told that although no deal has been agreed yet, the expectation is that he will be appointed as the next permanent manager.

There is said to be no rush on making the deal permanent, there are still a few things to be ironed out, but with the players the club itself and Eckert all happy about how things are currently going the deal is expected to be ironed out sooner than later.

There is a press conference due at 9am this morning, but whether this will be the normal pre match conference or there will be a bigger announcement we will find out very soon.

Theirs something very top quality about TE , saints should be treating him like a special talent coming through , notsure he should get the job atm . ST know theirs available managers out there who’ll more or less guarantee playoffs if not more but they allays seem to be prepared to gamble the fans loyalty

If as we have all expected Tonda is appointed do we give him 10 games from now to prove himself

wait until the Christmas games are over and then make the decision.
The results will speak for themselves.

Landsdown, I recall the same sort of messages about Will Still being a next generation talent when he walked in the door. TE clearly has had a positive impact but l would like a bigger sample size to be convinced.
