No sympathy for our rivals
No sympathy for our rivals

If any of our rivals are looking for sympathy, then politely they can clearly forget it!

Dennis Wise was hardly in contention to be given the freedom of Swindon following his abrupt departure last season to come to ER. Beating them 2-1 on Saturday has not helped and Wisey twisted the knife in further by declaring that Swindon boss Paul Sturrock should "put up and shut up" about their transfer embargo.

The Robins are in that situation due to unpaid bills and Wise has very little sympathy for his old club.

"Please stop crying, Paul. We have been in the same situation ourselves. It is how you deal with it that counts," said Wise.

"At the moment I know he can't do anything and it must be frustrating for him. He just has to get on with it. He has some decent players who caused us problems and I am sure they will do well in this league."

Leeds were whacked with a 10-point deduction last season, having gone into administration. It was a case of double-whammy when the Football League imposed a FIFTEEN POINT deduction at the start of this season when we failed to comply with administration rules. Somehow though, Wise has managed to guide the whites' into the play-off zone and won manager of the month twice.

We Leeds fans are champions at bearing grudges and our message to the rest of the league, the majority of whom voted for the fifteen point deduction is plain and simple:

WE ARE WATCHING YOU!

Another of Wises old clubs, Coventry City are rumoured to be on the verge of administration having failed to attract investors. Cardiff City are enjoying "The Ridsdale effect" and a report in the Sun on Saturday claimed Luton are nervously awaiting their fate - after their ex-chairman Bill Tomkins admitted to breaking rules relating to irregular payments.

Obviously it will be interesting to see how harshly the Football League will punish any future rule-breakers, if at all, but they have another chance to prove that the spirit of their great Leeds-hating secretary Alan Hardacker doesn't live on!
