Meanwhile Barry Bannon continues to demonstrate what a class act he is at this level, pulling strings like a master puppeteer. A game that dragged like a seal's ringpiece and wasn't enlivened by a goalkeeping error that made Nardi look the kind of stupid rarely seen outside of high-level idiot conventions or US politics. Bright spots were hard to come by but Rhys Norrington-Davies played was solid throughout, bringing the ball forward well and linking with Saito to good effect. Madsen's performance continued on its recent, steady upward trajectory and he deserved his goal, when it came. Other than that, the only things that stood out to me were a ref that was determined to give me an aneurysm and a sublime one two from Burrell for Kone.
