It's 9:45 and I've already seen us linked with 4 new players;
Gylfi sigurdsson: frozen out by spurs and doubt he will get a game once more players have come in, personally I think this could be a very good deal for us if we could get him for around 5million however I could see it being part of the remy deal if he ends up at white hart lane
Kyle naughton: again like Sigurdsson not much hope of getting a game and would be available on the cheap, one of Harry's tried and tested can play at left back or right back and could see redknapp preferring him to yun at left back
Adebayor: does this suprise anyone? Nope didn't think so. wouldn't want him at rangers yes he scores goals but his wages would be very high and he's not very young I beleive he's around 28 although I'm not sure
Demba ba: scores goals yes but the negatives outweigh the positives, plays for Chelsea and they certainly wouldn't want him coming to us on the cheap.
Personally would like us to get sigurdsson, wouldn't mind naughton and perhaps ba, but it would be a no to adebayor
The one thing I would say is, if you dont score goals in the Prem you get relegated, and the premiership is a massive step up from the championship for strikers. Any striker that has not played at that level is a gamble. Any striker who has played at that level and been a success but only for a year or so is a big gamble. Any striker who has had success at this level for more than 2 years and in the last 2 years is a gamble but less so than the above. Any striker who has had success in the last season or in one of the worlds other top leagues is not affordable.
So on that basis you could make a strong case for either or both of Adebayor and Ba

Ba and Adebayor are both clearly good, but both clearly the wrong type of signings. They will be very expensive (in salaries), one has a huge risk of injuries and one a huge risk of getting the hump, and both will not be able to be sold on in 2 years due to age.
Add to this neither of them have plied their trade in a relegation dogfight nor for a club of our, ahem, size, and I don't think either will be a good investment at all.
Sigurdsson isn't a bad shout. I don't think he's that great, but he's more affordable, could rediscover his form and make him into an asset.
Naughton is weak and not an improvement, IMO.
McCormak won't come because he's the one Warnock gave 'Arry the inside steer on which put 'Arry off signing him in Jan. 'Arry asked Warnock. He said so in an interview, I believe.
If we want forwards, Long would have been a great signing but doubt we can get him now.
I still think Troy Deeney is who we need to sign and could sign for only c. £3m. He'll be great for a team who won't be dominating possession game in game out. Big, strong, physical, puts himself about, holds onto it and scores goals.
Hmmm Deeney eh, Ron Burgundy Hunter? Good shout, I think he might well be a step up from a Hooper or Dwight Gayle type risk yet cost in the same region.
A fair few LFW punters seem to be thinking that HR might well be wanting to grind out a turgid tactical, safety & defence first approach to Premier survival. I'm not so sure.
I think since he started in management he's liked to - sorry HR - wheel & deal in the odd flair fantasy, maverick and attacking players. A Paolo Di Canio or a Van Der Vaart or a Modric or a Paul Merson. Those who can provide the X factor. Last season was an aberration I suspect, rather than the rule.
Bearing that in mind I'm sure he'll bring in some 'marquee' - dread yank word *shudder* - signing or two of a creative entertaining bums-on-seats nature that will get us all salivating.
Personally I'd like us to make Sam an offer he can't refuse & get Ravel Morrison in.

More like 20StoneOfHoop now.
Let's face it I'm not getting any thinner.
Pass the cake and pies please.

i hadnt heard about mcormack being a bit flakey until dane hoop mentioned it re t warnocks comment.
he seemed to hang round elland road long enough despite the basket case it clearly is and see them safe from relegation.
guess i'll have to take that one on the chops, that he wont be coming here.
i think the watford lad you mentioned would be a great shout, someone on the up, not rolling down the otherside.

Good shout Hunter
Deeney up top with Charles and go 3-5-2?
I think 3-5-2 actually suits our players (if by 5 in midfield you mean wing backs), but whenever we have tried that in the past we have been absolute dog shite.
As for Deeney, I like him as a player but dislike HIM. Wouldn't be opposed generally but I would question his attitude/motivation.

I think Fabio Borrini would be a great shout up top with Austin , like how he played at sunderland full of running, not afraid to shoot, can take a penalty not going to get a game at Liverpool, also Ki at Swansea is worth looking at , again had a good loan spell at sunderland and would compliment Barton & Faurlin in a 3 man midfield wouldn't cost to much either
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Liverpool would be mad to let him go after the season he's had
