If we're talking about our one then I'm shocked. I'm not sure that I care too much what he's done, unless it's criminal, as his groundsmanding is top notch and part of our success.

Hmm.. If it's our one then that's a real shame. Darren, you don't know any more info ?

Does this mean one of the privileged offspring is moving from the commercial department into a ground staff position ?

In all seriousness this seems bit of a strange one must be more to it than going home because he was sick .

Well, there's going home and 'going home' though. But shame if true as to keep the pitch in the condition it's in he must be a magician.

Apparently he was unable to work at the time.

Depends what he was on the sick for.
If he had head issues, home may well be the best place.

People are too quick to judge folk when they are unwell, unles your dragging your leg round covered in blood for all to see eyebrows are always raised.

Without knowing too much or jumping to conclusions I'd have thought our club would a certain level of compassion considering the job done. If they sacked him the club must be fairly sure of it's legal standing .

All a bit weird as I thought he was pretty much married to that pitch and the job hence why it was always a spot on playing surface.

Maybe the guy was suffering from a bit of burnout ?

He sleeps in the bloody ground during the season in his shed. His commitment is big to the swans.

I found Dan easy to talk and get on with and very knowledgeable, he was not so fussed about the rugby because he wanted the pitch prestigious for the Swans. I noticed he was not around so much this season. But a good guy

He'll probably find out eventually that the grass isn't always greener, as most people who leave the Swans do.

I was told this last week.He went to Australia and reported to the club he was sick but the club didn't believe it and done a bit of groundwork (no pun intended) on matters and found him to be stretching the truth.Sounds to me that the club had reservations about him in the first place not to believe him and done some digging (excuse the pun again) and then dismissed him. There were other matters involved too whilst he was in swansea which I'd never go into on here.I'm sure certin people on here know what i mean.
