Being as its Johnny Lydons 60th this weekend and the 40th Birthday of punk this Year. It would be remiss not to post our favourite punk/New wave tunes.
"What a Rotter.."

I heard the sirens on the opening bars of 'White Riot' by the Clash on a dodgy transistor radio under the bed as a pup and that was it for me.
'We all Fall Down' by Egghunt was another milestone as we morphed into 'melodic hardcore', but the track that I could play a hundred times on the trot is the Rich Kids 'Ghost of Prince's in Towers'.

you might have a few years on me but my cousin is Mick Herbage from Department s. I used to listen to his records round our nans front room in ilford .
He wore so much hairspray back then his head stuck to my nans antimaccaser.

I don't think all punk stood the test of time but I'd have some X-Ray Spex, Theatre of Hate, and 999 in my list and The Stranglers. Is early Ultravox classed as punk?

Going to really love this thread
You're going to really love this thread? By putting up something that has nothing to do with it? Pshaw!!!
This is the moment that converted me. Not literally, I wasn't there (aged 13 and in Harlow) but seeing this most magnificent angry Rock and Roll moment on tele..! Hooked!
It took me till 1996 to see them for real. FInsbury Park, the day after I was at Wembley and saw England beat Spain on penalties in Euro '96. With Stuart Pearce doing that celebration literally right at me and my mates.
Beat that for a weekend!
Now for that moment...

Vintage TV did an hour on old punk and post-punk and it was dope. I spazzed out at some of the brill choices.
Great to see Siouxsie and Killing Joke represented here.
One of my favourite songs as a kid. Still fresh as f**k I reckon too.
The best Killing Joke song. 34 years later and it still is unmatched for intenseness.
The Cult when they were a post punk goth country band and not some sort of US stadium rock filth.
New Model Army. Crusty punk with an amazing bassist.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.
