Where is everyone from? 19:21 - Jul 30 with 31184 viewsSgorioFruit

Two weeks left til we kick off.
I thought I'd start a thread to see how far and wide planet swans reaches our fans.
I think we have a few American jacks on here, anyone else following us abroad?
Be good to see where everyone is from in the UK too.

To start off, SgorioFruit is based in Ammanford.

My methods are not favoured by some but by god i speak the truth.

Port Talbot and probably only 1 of 20 who dared choose the Swans over Cardiff back then.

100%. Well, about 99, I very occasionally see a bluebirds top in Morrison's.

Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.

It was very unfashionable to be a Swans fan in the mid seventies, in most people's eyes. A helluva lot of people in and around Swansea didn't bother support us then, never mind further afield.

We had a hard core of about 3,000, for a number of seasons, who stuck by us, and enabled us to be where we are today.

I regularly see young kids in swans tops in the Cardiff area, and two in the city centre recently. The younger generation follow success, simple as.

People overestimate Cardiff support in Port Talbot because most of their PT lot are headers that make a lot of noise. Probably as many Swans fans within the actual city of Cardiff itself.

There's bound to be, Cardiff is the place to go if you want work, all roads lead to the big City. I live in the Rhondda, and I and many others are fed up of the money being pumped into the place, while the rest of South Wales is left to rot...

The womb...............................ok, pseudo joke over, born in Leicester but moved, when still a baby, to Wales with my family in 1950 (yes, i'm officially an old git!), worked and lived in London from 1967 'til around early '71. Loved it up there. Always been a Jack. My father took me when I was around 4 years old, still remember it, 30 odd thousand in the Vetch, in the wing stand, sunny day, opposition in blue and white stripes, Huddersfield I think. It becomes part of your blood from then on. Never wanted to support anyone else, though I watched Chelsea when I lived there in the late 60's, because they were local for me. Once a Jack.............etc.

Think Bradford PA were relegated in that season 69/70 - to be replaced by Cambridge United.

Bradford PA still exist, just about, and I see the odd fan of theirs now and again - usually old weird duffers sat in the corner of the pub, sporting tatty green and whites scarves.

Totally outnumbered by BCFC fans now, of course.

Their original 19th century ground is a sad place, bounded on one side by one of Bradford's more f**ked up estates and on the other by a huge, pink-stoned, terminally unfinished mosque.

Their most famous "old boy" was Kevin Hector, who went on to find a modicum of glory at Derby County in the 1970's.

Beresford Nursing Home ... well, well, and I thought I was the only one left (1947) ! I understand it was demolished some time ago. What is standing there these days ? Is there any history available ?
