So had a few glasses of vino last night and the missus thinks I’ve got a problem
I drink a few glasses of red every night and a good 4-8 beers at weekend.
Maybe I’m in denial but I’ve not got a problem? I don’t pour jack Daniels on me Frosties.

Combination of laziness and my running, can easily goes months without a drink. Think I last had a drink around September when I was in Scotland. Going back in April so may have some of the Real Ale then.

Currently away with er indoors and the kids and have had at least 4 maybe 5 beers a day since Monday. At home I work shifts and weekends, so rarely drink, maybe a bottle every 2 weeks or so. Only drink beer, IPA or Golden Ale.

Yeah I’m kidding myself really.
I drink every Friday and Saturday. And I drink probably too much on both nights.
I don’t always drink in the week. But of late I’ve been relaxing with wine. Which isn’t good.

Surely if the wife thinks it’s a problem then it’s in your interests for ur marriage to show a little respect and cut down. Go a weekend or 2 without a drink. It’s not the end of the world. Very Friday and Saturday ? Are you trying to block out things in ur mind ? Are you happy with your life / wife ?

1 or 2 bottles of good red a week.
It's almost certainly too much but life is awfully slow when you never drink at all. I think I'm quite easily getting in enough alcohol free days, if that's really a good thing. |  | | |

A good session every 2 or 3 months, when I will drink about 15 pints.
Otherwise just the odd one or two about once a week with a takeaway.
Over a year, about 120 - 150 pints. No shorts, maybe the odd glass of wine if out having a meal. |
1 or 2 on afternoon weekdays 3 or 4 times a week just to socialise.
Then about 10 pints on the weekend split between Saturday and Sunday,rarely drink shorts or wine.
Could count on 1 hand the hangovers I've had in the last 10 years,which is the way I like it.

I'm amazed and impressed at how abstemious the original poster and others are - I definitely should cut down.
Last year, for every day that I didn't have a drink I put £5 in a jar because I would have spent at least that. After the 12-months was up I counted it up and there was just over £400 in there, when you do the sums that is not very many days without a drink, so I should definitely do better.

Did the "Go Sober October" and since have kept a check on my drinking using https://www.drinkaware.co.uk/tools/app/ makes you think before having that just one more, apart from Christmas week have stayed in the low risk. Main drinking day is match day and you need a drink following The Swans! Those trying to cut down try the app and see if it helps. Have a mate who always says "I don't drink any more, then again I don't drink any less!"

Too much atm. I go in cycles (i everything I do). I'm in a beer cycle right now and it's probably gone on longer than it should. Regularly 2-3 cans or bottles a night, maybe only a day off a week or two on a good week. Never have a skin full anymore, but I'm sure 2 or 3 a night isn't good for anyone.
Need to get back training for something (runs or triathlon), but that gets harder to get started again as you get older and more unfit (bit of a vicious downward spiral). |  | | |

No not related.
I stopped drinking then later that year developed cancer, you couldn't make it up!
But the good news is that my operation was a complete success the cancer was contained within my kidney and not spread so removal has cured the problem.

I love that beer buzz, especially when it’s light outside. But nowadays (mid-fifties) after 2 or 3 beers at the weekend I switch to decaf coffee.
Sparkling mineral water - as mentioned previously - is a good substitute. You get a lovely little bit of throat burn. My missus can’t tell the difference between sparkling mineral water with apple and black currant squash versus Kopperburg mixed fruits cider.
