Given that:

1. It was our 3rd home game in a week, with the other two being full houses
2. Huddersfield only brought around 300 fans (not that I blame them)
3. Ralph generally picks a reserve team in FA Cup games

I didn’t think it was too shabby an attendance yesterday. Interesting to see a group of around 20 or so quite young school kids all sat together in Block 1 of the Itchen North 😳 ; not sure who decided to buy their tickets for the Itchen North, though I dare say they found the Westwood songs quite informative.....

The most important argument is that Southampton are currently the better team, higher up and a bigger club. That can't be argued.

I'm so happy for you, finally you have got something to be proud of.

Absolutely - 4 nil to the Saints in your own back yard made me very proud. Easy win.

To put things in perspective:

Southampton - Premier League Team
Portsmouth - League 1 Team
Latest meeting - Portsmouth 0 Southampton 4
Current average attendance Portsmouth 18 000
Southampton 30 000

Now, there is some perspective.

Back in 1622, there was an unofficial Southampton Saints fc and Pompey plonkers fc. They played each other and I was there as I am very old but don't look it. Southampton won 6 1 and the Saints fans were by far the most passionate and loudest at the time. We're you there or are you a youngster? I did a survey in 1784 and everybody said they liked Southampton more than Portsmouth mainly because the Portsmouth area smelt of fish.

Anyway back in 2019, premier league Southampton beat league 1 Portsmouth 4 nil in their own ground. We are the best team in the South.

So whatever you say, I have facts that you can only dream of, as I was born in 1059. I knew that I would support the Saints as soon as I was born.
