He’s hardly carried the team anyway. Had a decent season (8/10) and showed his class at times but also had quiet games where he’s contributed little
As for a player carrying a team. Most clubs have a star player. Don’t see Ronaldo burnt out yet at 35. | |

For me he has been a revelation, never thought he would play the season he has for us. However, of late he isn't spotting the easy pass and is doing too much on the ball. And his passing is off the mark as well. However if Rooney had played like Ayew has this season people would be applauding him and the thicker dafties would want him back in the England squad. Ayew has been class this season, his wages are obscene, and part of the reason for staying has to be nobody else would offer him that. But for all that, he's been a star man.

Ronaldo’s got players like Ramsey and Pjanic around him. Ayew has Byers and Grimes. Go figure.
Ayew has undoubtedly been putting in shifts that are head and shoulders above anyone else, in pretty much every single game. I’m surprised he hasn’t injured himself yet. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s burnt out and in need of a rest. |  |

Did anyone else notice Ayew at the end of the game sat on the floor in Derby end of the pitch at the end of the game not sure if he was gutted we lost knackered or both.
One of the Derby players/coaches went over to him and was speaking to him for quite some time.
I know he may not have scored for several games but there’s no doubting his desire to want to win. We could do with a few more players with his attitude. |  |
