Teams on 15:53 - Sep 12 with 683 views | 1885_SFC | Well I've seen a lot worse over the years in our opening game of a season. We need to get Redmond & Adams into the game if we're going to get anything from it. Neither have done anything of note - nothing. Long on for Adams & Djenepo on for Smallbone on the hour.

Good to see you’re as much of a whiny cry baby as the last time I posted on here. One of the few benefits of Covid is that people like you aren’t able to infest our stadium with your ultra negative drivel | | | | Login to get fewer ads

A dissapointing poor performance that shows we desperately need a central midfielder. Yet this will lead to cry babies bedwetting after one defeat that it's going to be a long season etc etc.

Oh you are happy with that performance are you? And the fact that what we so separately needed player wise STILL hasn’t been addressed Your life must be pretty average and you are one of those people who goes “oh well doesn’t matter”

Agreed We were saying there was no urgency for an equaliser, even in the 2nd half - in a game we should have been looking to not only equalise, but go on to win. Too many players weren't involved enough today and some of those that were, didn't do themselves any favours. Redmond and Smallbone were noticeably quiet and as a result, the front 2 got no service. Romeu gave the ball away far too much (a bit like PEH) and put our defence under unnecessary pressure far too often - including for the goal. Djenepo did nothing but should, like Long, have had longer to impress. We didn't really create much / enough, but the 2 decent chances we had were well saved. JWP needs to practice his free kicks. Vest did well with some long balls and headers, nearly getting an assist, but was awful at playing a high defensive line (no pace) and made a real mess when McCarthy stupidly passed to him near the end. Palace could probably have gone up a gear if needed, so we disappointingly didn't deserve anything from the game. Would Armstrong have made a difference ? Perhaps, but we will never know. Still need 2 more in at least and some competition for places to keep them sharp.

Where was Boufal too? That game was desperate for some invention and Ralph left moussa until the 77 min Armstrong was missed and too often Redmond has games where he is ineffective

It was poor but it's one game at the start of what is going to be a very strange season and we certainly won't play like that every week. My days of getting in a tis about losing a football match are long gone. Maybe you should give it a go too? You never know, it might make you happier to put things in a bit of perspective, particularly during these crazy times? Chances are you'll be saying exactly the same thing when I log in again next year though.
