It is referred to as a war but war was never declared by either side.
So, as it was clearly a war instigated by Argentina, and the UK took perfectly reasonable action to eject the Argentinian military....you are reduced to pretending that a war did not in fact take place. It was a figment of our imagination folks!

Thatcher withdrew UK citizenship rights for the Islanders and did a few other things that signalled to the world that the UK did not see the islanders as British going forward. All Argentina needed to do was wait a couple of years whilst they extended tradeing with the islands and eventually the islands would have been reliant on Argentina and a soft coup was an inevitability.
Unfortunately, from an Argentine point of view, the military Junta were in deep shit at home and wanted to get the people to rally together and the "retaking of the islands" was their plan. This offered Thatcher, who herself had awful popularity at that time, a chance to show "strong leadership" and liberate the islands from Argentina.
The rest is history.

I do think of it as a war, just it was an undeclared war, the Argies thought they had a claim but shouldn't have invaded and suffered the consequences as a result.

I don't think there are any direct quotations linking Thatcher to your claim , there were mutterings within her cabinet of handing the islands over to prevent a incident like this occurring . Over the previous 15 years, "successive British Governments had held a series of meetings with the Argentine Government to discuss the dispute. Peculiar way of thinking isn't it. The people who think the UK were morally in the wrong for engaging Argentina in the Falklands war will, in the next breath, claim that Israel are evil for occupying "palestine"...apparently the 'thought they had a claim' argument doesn't wash when it is Jews making the claim.
I have concluded that to be 'Left' past the age of 40 is a very peculiar way of thinking indeed. Most of us acquire wisdom as we go.

They attacked the falkland without declaring war that is an act of war in itself therefore war was declared by their actions no other action other than to kick them out by force which the UK did. The United nations backed that action. The United nations also states that the people of the Falklands have the right to self determination.
Guess you did not approve of the action of the USA when the Japanese bombed pearl harbour without declaring war.

A_Fans_Dad I don't think you knew what I was getting at, there is a school of thought that we knew the attack was coming due to our spy network and figured it would bring America into the war on our side if we turned a blind eye, we were right up against it and was desperate and apparently we had asked the Yanks to fight the good fight alongside us numerous times but to no avail.

Jewish people have a strong family unit, work hard at school,go to uni,get job,tart a business and work even harder at it.I mean the barstards .They also do not scrounge off the state,save for their old age, and normally their kids do not cause the havoc other religious adherents do. They also tend not to breed kids that get pregnant asap so the state can look after them I have enormous respect for their industry and family unit. If all of us followed
