Yes it’s the first game officiating the swans that Andy Woolmer who Steve Cooper called out publicly for his integrity and decision making - after the home game against Sheffield Wednesday in November. Cooper was fined £3,500. Cooper publicly stated “ One thing was for sure, that whatever the decision was, it was not going to us," Cooper said after the game.

Now I don’t know about you but this buff nut shouldn’t be reffing any Swans game until the outcome of an investigation in to his conduct is made public, along with Cooper’s allegations also being made public. According to Cooper he is a dodgy referee who holds grudges and cheats. That’s the implication and it’s not been put to bed.

Richard Duffy the former Swansea man rose through the ranks in South Wales breaking onto the scene as a fresh-faced schoolboy and making his debut for the Swans in December 2001 aged 16 against Macclesfield. However, Duffy would be kept out for over a year through injury, returning back to the side at the start of the 2003-04 season and quickly becoming a regular in the Swans side making 22 appearances.
The Welsh youngster quickly attracted interest from higher leagues, and it was Premier League outfit Portsmouth who won the race for his signature, with the defender swapping South Wales for the South coast in January 2004. A short loan move with Burnley preceded multiple successive loan spells with the Sky Blues. Duffy arrived at Coventry on loan in January 2005 as Micky Adams’ first signing, going on to play 15 games as City narrowly avoided relegation. He returned to the Midlands for the entirety of the next season, playing a key role in the upturn of fortunes and then returned the next season on a short loan until January 2007. He spent the second half of the 2006-07 season back with Swansea making 12 appearances, however this would be the final time Duffy would wear the Swans colours making 35 appearances across his two spells. The Welshman returned to Coventry for his last and fourth successive season but would only make a couple of appearances as injury would end his season soon after arrival. Duffy departed the Sky Blues at the end of the season playing 64 times across the four loan spells.
There are very few links between the sides bar David Smith who played for the swans in 2002/03 season and Barry Powell back in the early seventies.

The only way Grimes and Hourihane can be played in the same team is if CH replaces Lowe and plays alongside Ayew. But then we wouldn’t have the same press at our forward line. I can’t see Hourihane giving the same effort as Lowe.
If Lowe stays in the side then Grimes makes way and Smith and Fulton provide the steel in midfield.
If I had my way I’d bench CH and play Grimes/Smith/Fulton and replace the most knackered with him in the second half.
Dropping Grimes would be an absolute disaster, our best player by a country mile he showed that again last night.

Imo one of our front two should be rested giving whittaker a chance to show what he can do, we will have the luxury of either ayew or lowe plus hourihane to come off the bench if the game goes tits up

Thank goodness for that! We were poor in the last ten minutes sitting far too deep and gifting Coventry a succession of half chances. A better team would have capitalised.

Absolutely, Grimes would be the first name on my team sheet, and probably on Coopers as well.
There are no easy games in this league, but the Bristol game is going to be a tough, tough test of our character, I know this won't go down well, but I'd settle for a draw right now.

It seems like its his decision for us to drop back into defensive mode, but I agree we need a quick out ball, we just left a knackered Lowe out there and he will be out there again Saturday, I hope he's been resting today with his trotters up, I don't think it would have hurt to have swapped him Whittaker or Arriola who seems to be industrious and a grafter.
Coops see the players everyday so its his judgement that matters, he's hasn't done to bad so far, but it'll be a shame to flog the tried and tested players to death, when there's players on the bench who could be capable of replacing those players

Unquestionably ,what is clear from these exchanges is just how far our standards and expectations have dropped. We are back to the little ol Swansea days and we should be lucky to have a stadium at all.
Fans are concerned clearly and this is evident of forums when the insults fly around as some fans say what they feel,others simply pot as uberloyal long term fan whose opinion overrides all.

I feel for those who cannot see it Bad. My missus is a casual watcher and when she comes into the room, we are normally hanging on,protecting a 1-0 lead or simply watching our young defenders man the barrocade whilst the opposition tear into us. Teams like Forest,Hudds and Coventry have all done that. We were fortunate their finishing was o bad ,apart from Hudds obviously.
We are scoring few goals and that is a Cooper certainty but many seem to support this.This is not the Swansea Way.

I'm sure you can work it out, hopefully. I happy with the progress we've made this season off the back of last season's excellent season, it hasn't always been pretty, but the result justifies the deed. We're 1 pt off 2nd place with 2 games in hand with a predominately young squad, I tell you what lets sack coops is it and send Woodman back to Newcastle and get in another manager in who will make us more expansive, concede goals like its going out of fashion, but we'll also maybe score a few and finish mid table, instead of pushing on to hopefully make it to the land of milk and honey and be able to get more quality players in and play more expansively and still defend resolutely, all about doing the hard yards, I'd like to see us play like we did in getting promoted in 2011. Its frustrating and butt clenching at times, its good to have ones blood pressure raised on times it shows we are still alive.

Can I suggest you watch the extended highlights
We were not nullified in attack our problem is finishing , these highlights show some nice attractive passing free flowing passages of football including the period after we apparantly sat back went defensive to protect the 1-0 lead. In the firtst half two chances fell to Jamal to score one from a long ball from MAtt Grimes then from a ball across the box form Roberts after some interpassing form Dhanda, Naughton who made himself avaiable for the return pass but the pass went to Grimes who despite being challenged got the ball away unforyuneately Jamal scuffed his shot wide. Then from just outside our box another move results in a ball across the bix from Lowe which Bidwell cant quite put away but from this Dhanda is set up with a shot.
Examples in the seconfd half with some lovely moves one starting frfom inside our box and again Lowe unable to finish....there are a few more examples of attacking football from us but our finsihing lets us down....Check it out .
How it can be said w ehave been nullified if we were the chances we "spurned" could not have happened .Had one of theose goals gone in in the first half the game would have opened more and possibly we could have scored more. We are creating chances... the highlights show this...YEs we are not the team of 10 years ago but we are up there challenging for automatic promotion..we can and do play some attractive attacking football at times ..but we have also become more resolute in defence and can now grind out a win.
We all have opinions sometimes I try to back mine up with evidence. Ok there may be less than 10 oppportunities shown but one or two of those should have been converted if they had I am sure the game would have been different...And to say we wnet defensive after scoring well the evidence doesnt point to that.
