I would point out at this stage that I have no animosity towards Man City fans, my hatred is aimed at the system that has turned football into what it has become, we love our clubs but at Premier League level they have become all the things most who have been going to the matches hate.

We want our teams to be at the top and compete, but there comes a time that money rules and it doesn't matter how much you have there is someone with more and that means that they can buy better players etc, the Premier League is like formula one, it is all about who has the most money so can build the best car, the rest then just make up the numbers

Sadly I think the Premier League needs to cast adrift those who crave European and World glory and get back to a Premier League that is competitive

So winning trophies, the PL etc would not gain European competition entry? It sounds a bit like you want to return to the 1960s and 1970s but without the teams that win the most?

So you’re arguing Nick that starting say 15- 20 games and maybe a few sub appearances for City is a step down career wise then playing every game for saints? In my view, Ings has started too many games for us, as whenever he’s fit or almost fit he has to play as no one else does what he can. A club like City would offer him much needed rest and rotation. I don’t see the Lambert comparison as Ings is younger and probably has more to offer than Rickie did at the time of his move.

They could start by removing anyone playing in the Champions League or Europa League from the League Cup. That would give everyone else a cup to play for and also make that competition far more interesting - Man City winners in five of the last seven years, including the last three (big yawn)...

You can blame Tottenham for that, they were the first club to float on the stock exchange in the 80's, resulting in the rush to chase cash for shareholders, and the advent of the Premier League.

As an aside, why would you have animosity towards City fans? We support and follow the club, not the owners (whilst appreciating what they have done for the club, AND city in general), with the "camels they rode in on".
