They're taking the view that vaccinations will protect most of the vulnerable and, I think, going for the old 'herd immunity' strategy for everyone else. Certainly, there seems to be no messaging around even maintaining the limiting restrictions we now have and it looks like there will be more liberalisation in July. As I understand it, probably the biggest issue with this approach is that the greater the number of cases, the greater the chance of more variants arising. |  |

So our world leaders all met to talk about a world wide approach to tackling Covid, only to do nothing but help it to spread. They also met to tackle the climate crisis but they all emitted a load of fumes from their numerous private jets and helicopters. You couldn't make it up. They could have met over zoom surely.
