Roger Hunt RIP 13:03 - Sep 28 with 580 viewsSadoldgit

Another legend from the golden era of football has sadly passed away. For those who saw the one and only England success in the World Cup in 1966 he will always be a hero. RIP Roger Hunt.

There can't be many of that '66 winning team still alive now?

Poll: Should we try to replace Selles for the final seven games?

When I heard that news I was saying there seems to have been quite a few of the "big name" players passing over the last couple of years or so that I grew up watching and got me in to the sport as a nipper. Tells me how old I'm getting I suppose but it also shows how much respect there was for the top players of the 60's and 70's that they are still held in such esteem

Think I'd best make the most of what I've got while I can!

Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst?

I saw him play a few times but like many of the '66 World Cup winning team, he never played well at the Dell. I can't recall him ever scoring there. As for Bobby Moore, we used to score hatfuls of goals whenever he came to the Dell.

And George Cohen, I think.

I had a look at the German team. Most of them are still with us by the looks of it.

Yes you are right, George is still going strong at 81.

Cohen was another one who was terrible at the Dell. We put 6 goals past Fulham in the 2 games he played there. I remember him looking rather plump and slow.
