So EUFA were all against the ESL yet seem to have done a very similar thing with the new format of the different contest! So there’s gonna be 36 teams rather than 32 starting from the 24/35 season, with the 4 new places going to some playoff like way, and one to most likely France, but the other two are now going to the two teams who didn’t qualify who had the most “historical credit” in the tournament! 🤦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
As the new tournament format seems like it’s gonna be just as bad as they’ve still got the classic R16 onwards like we’ve currently got, but how it is before just doesn’t really seem fair/consistent as there’s gonna be just 1 group, with all teams playing 10 games (5 home and 5 away) but who they’ll be playing and where I can’t seem to find/understand which could cause loads of controversy. But once all the games have happened then the top 8 get through to the R16 and the other 8 positions go to a playoff between teams from 9th-16th and 17th-24th. But how they’re gonna fit in all these games and how the allocations are gonna work just makes no sense.
This is also gone be the case for the Conference and Europa league (although whether that means we get more slots for Europe, who knows!?
All this just shows/sums up the major downwards slope that footballs on though! First you get all the money, then the diving, then the proposed ESL, then the 5 subs (which clearly benefit the bigger teams!) and now the start of the same teams qualifying for the major tournaments! Which just shows/confirms that it’s only a matter of time until the hypocrites that call themselves UEFA start their own European super league that’s always gonna he’s the same teams! What a joke

No but it’s more the point that they didn’t want a ESL to start, yet are basically starting one themselves now, and the fact that they’re now actually gonna start looking at the history books and such for teams to automatically qualify that just shows the road footballs heading for, which will effect us (how and when who knows, and for all we know it may be a positive!) | |
